It was another fun weekend in Shawnee, OK for the Outlaw Motorsports Turkey Shootout. We entered both cars into the Sportsman class and what a blast we had!

Qualifying:
Korey - 3rd
Kasey - 9th

Heats:
Korey - 4th
Kasey - 2nd

Feature:
Korey - 8th
Kasey - 2nd

While there is always room for improvement, we are pleased with how the weekend went!

Race recap:

We rolled into Shawnee, OK last weekend for the Outlaw Motorsports season opener. What a great time it was!

Kasey was able to get a heat win on Friday along with a 2nd place finish in the feature. On Saturday, early struggles were present but he kept his head in the game and was able to finish 2nd from his 6th place starting position. Congrats to Ross Taylor on the win, what a class act, well deserved!

Korey showed speed early Friday but something happened after a small collision and we were unable to find the problem at the track. Turns out he wasn’t lying, he really couldn’t turn lol. Congrats to Henry Rogers on the win!

A big thanks to Kirk Berkley and the whole outlaw motorsports team, track was great and program was ran well, can’t wait to be back!

Engine:
Outlaw karts often feature powerful motorcycle engines, such as the Honda CR500, or modified Briggs & Stratton engines.
No Suspension:
The lack of suspension makes for a rough, but thrilling, ride, as the frame flexes to absorb impacts.
Power:
They have a high power-to-weight ratio, similar to a 410 sprint car, meaning they can accelerate quickly and lift the front wheels.
Racing Format:
Races typically include qualifying, heat races, and main events, with passing points awarded and sometimes a four-car invert.
Track Conditions:
Track conditions can change, requiring drivers to adjust their setup and driving style.
Cost-Effective:
Compared to other motorsports, outlaw karting is relatively affordable, with used karts costing around $5,000.
