About last weekend…first full tournament of the fall and these young ladies came to play! After getting rained out Friday night, and delayed Saturday morning, we ended up losing one of our scheduled pool games. During a long and spread out schedule Saturday, we ended the day going 2-0-1, securing the #2 seed and a 9:30am game Sunday.
On Sunday, it took us a bit to get the bats going again. However, they woke up and we took care of business going 3-0 on the day and a first place finish!
Takeaways from the weekend:
Our 4 pitchers and our defense were exceptional all weekend! Our pitchers had a .636 ERA, walking only 4 batters! Our defense supported our pitchers by committing only 4 errors and turning 4 double plays! That is getting the job done! 6 runs allowed!
Offensively, we had ups and downs but we had some clutch AB’s and big time hits! Hitting is contagious and we definitely saw that at times during the weekend! Our offense was plenty good enough scoring 35 runs, to support our pitching and defense and will only get better as the fall progresses!
Lastly, these players are special, the dynamic is special, the work ethic it special and the chemistry is special! We know that if we play our game and play together, we are a tough team for opponents to handle…and we are excited to watch it continue to grow!
