Quick reminder that we are closed on Monday, September 7th to allow our staff some time to celebrate Labor Day with their friends and family.
We also want to recognize all of the hard work that YOU have put in this year. Maybe on the bike, maybe to get a new position or degree, maybe to provide incredible care to those with illness or injury, maybe taking care of your kids, or maybe just to make yourself a better person. Regardless of the what and why, we know you work hard. You are doing a good job. So, Take a break. This weekend is for you. See ya next week.
Cheers!

Here we go again. Monday is going to be another scorcher so we are going to cancel the ride. With temperatures in the triple digits most of the week, please be careful and take extra precautions if you do decide to get out on the bike. Remember that training in extreme conditions more often than not can diminish results rather than add to your fitness.. If you want to increase your training, or just enjoy time on the bike consider some night riding or going out extra early while temperatures are still around 80 in the morning. Regardless of when you choose to ride, take extra water and be mindful of your body and aware of heat exhaustion symptoms. Fingers crossed that next week is a little bit cooler!

Finally a small break in the heat, AND it happens on a Monday night! Let’s get some bike out, call all our friends and ride!
Steven Howard will be holding ride sweep role solo while I am out of town this week, so don’t be shy if you want to help bring up the back of the pack and make sure everyone gets back okay this week. He could use the company. Regardless, enjoy the ride!

Unfortunately it is still piping hot outside and the next five days have us over 100°. For the safety of all of our friends we are cancelling this week’s Monday Night Gravel Ride.
If you choose to ride this week:
- Ride early or after dark
- Take more water than you think you need
- Consume electrolytes before, during and after the ride
- Don’t ride alone (if you do make sure someone knows where you are and is available in the event of heat exhaustion)
- Familiarize yourself with symptoms of heat exhaustion/stroke and watch for them diligently
Be safe and we will try again next week!
