The season was cut short, but our seniors still got their due on July 20 at Erik Proffitt #19 Memorial Soccer complex. All were recognized with their parents in the annual ceremony. (Sorry about the wind at the end; storms moved in just as we finished up and it got really windy.)

Hello, Grizzly Nation! We are all so disappointed for the opportunity that was suddenly taken away from all of the students at Northwest, but in particular for the girls soccer team, which entered the season with so much promise only to have it taken away. All the best to our players, and especially the seniors, as they turn the page for what awaits them next year.

Grizzly Soccer on the Web

Hello, and welcome. For the last fiveseasons I have been the voice behind the Public Address microphone at Eric Proffit #19 Memorial Soccer Complex. Going into year number six, I can only say that it is my honor to be associated with these fine young people. Parents of the players, you are indeed blessed. Let’s make this year a state championship year!

With the help of the late Alan Shepherd, ten plus years ago I established a webcast program at Kapaun Mt. Carmel to broadcast athletic and non-athletic events live for those unable to attend. My goal was to reach out to members of the Kapaun family, especially alumni, all over the globe, while paying tribute to the fine young people playing their hearts out. We started with the girls soccer program, and eventually were webcasting soccer, football, basketball, wrestling, baseball and softball. When I left Kapaun in 2014, the program was terminated.

I am pleased to announce that the majority of the road contests will be webcast live again this year, the fifth year of such webcasts at Northwest. The complete schedule of webcasts and the links to both the webcasts and podcasts of past events is at the bottom of this page.

This year’s schedule is highlighted early with a doubleheader webcast live from Manhattan High School on April 30. The program will begin with the Junior Varsity game at 4:15, with Varsity to follow. Please join us online if you can’t make the trip to Topeka.

All of last year’s podcasts are linked through this same page, so feel free to either go back, or to listen for the first time.

Go Grizzlies!!!
