⚡️ Stress Management ❤️
One of the best things is to use what we got.
Duh! Mrs Capt Obvious
Mirror neurons. They help us to emphasize. This helps us to deal. To let the power of the situation, the energy of it, to dissipate.
Then you can come to a better resolution to the stressor.
Then you can integrate the story, the words ( aka left brain) to the feelings (right brain). This is how we start to have a lot more control over things that hurt us, push us, violate our lines, etc. Humans humaning on other humans. Messy business.
The tribe is so important. Vital.
Not having one is very unhealthy.
We are social creatures. Period.
We are stronger together.

Story time. This was my first race. First of the season. Aka the swim in as cold as … fill in your fav expression and multiply by two. lol
My hands were so cold after the swim I couldn’t get my wet suit off or bike jersey on.
Triathlon corners are the best! Touching us yucky cray-crays.
At this time I was an infant weak swimmer. Sucked at the bike. And run like a wild horse once I got to the run. Which at that point sucked because I hadn’t figured out electrolytes yet.
My coach. The gentleman in the pic, Jeff, has such a good soul. Through helping me learn to swim, he was my as team mate in HEALING my SEVERE ptsd from childhood experiences.
I would not have been so successful without him. Years of support through so much crap. So many races he’s waiting on me to get through my swim. Make sure I was safe.
Make sure I was safe. That’s how you earn trust. He didn’t understand my stuff. And he hasn’t perfect.
His heart was kind enough, brave enough and not afraid of my pain. Which came out at attitude fear and crazy at times.
However. When we show up at Ironman Wisconsin for my first open water Ironman swim, 2.5 miles with 4K other rockstars all battling their own demons, I followed him through the crowd without hesitation.
Plenty of fear. Trusting him helped me ignore it and drive forward fast and hard. A requirement for what I wanted to accomplish.
I’m so proud of that version of Kyra. So many tears. Hurt. Pain. Letting go. In the water. Learning to swim. Learning to find grace. Learning to overcome. Trusting.
Learning exactly who I am.
Learning what I’m capable of.
That girl has some grit.
We called her honey badger for a season.
