Drowning is the LEADING cause of death for kids ages 1–4.
Learning to swim early is one of the most powerful ways to reduce that risk.
Swimming isn’t just a life skill. It also makes a powerful impact on growth and development.
✔️ Builds full-body strength + endurance

Swimming is more than a life skill. It also aids in brain development.
Kids who swim before age 5 can show up to 15 months ahead in literacy and numeracy skills. Swimming activates both sides of the brain at the same time. Movements like kicking, balancing, and breathing in rhythm improve coordination and strengthen neural connections linked to learning. Water also adds resistance, making the brain and body work harder together.
Studies show early movement-based activities improve memory, focus, and problem-solving. Repeating swim patterns helps build timing, sequencing, and body awareness, all important for reading and math. Even 20–30 minutes a few times a week can make a difference over time.
Start simple and keep it fun. Splash, float, and play regularly. Early movement is not just exercise, it is brain building in action.

You asked and we answered.
This summer, in addition to our regular offerings, we will now offer one-on-one private lessons specifically designed for neurodivergent children.
Meet Maggie Higgins, a special education teacher in the Andover School District with a decade of experience working with neurodivergent kids. Maggie will receive her master's in special education in December. She spent many summers in the pool swimming for the Crestview Country Club team, and she's back in the pool this summer helping us facilitate lessons for this important population.
At Rescue Ready Swim, we believe that swimming is a life skill EVERYONE needs.

Swim lessons are critical life skills, but physical barriers are important if you have pool:
🛟 4-Sided Isolation Fence
A fence that completely separates the pool from the house and yard. Self-closing. Self-latching. No exceptions.
🚪 Door & Window Alarms
If a child slips out, you need to know immediately.
🛟 Safety Covers
A properly fitted, weight-rated pool cover adds an extra barrier when the pool isn’t in use.
👀 Designated Water Watcher
Even with barriers, active supervision is essential. One adult. No phone. No distractions.
Layers work together. If one fails, another stands in the gap.
