Since people are asking me "how is retirement?" thought I'd give you an update. Yeah, retirement is pretty good. It's just so different. After three months I was feeling kind of lost. It just seemed immoral in some way to be doing nothing (not that I didn't have things to do). So about three weeks ago I decided to go for a bike ride and dropped by the farm and art market in old town. Leaving there, I realized that Heartland Bicycle was just around the corner and decided to drop in and see how Byron was doing. So the first thing he asks is "hey are you interested in a job?" Caught me by surprise but after thinking about it, I said sure why not.

So here I am at Heartland now. It's actually kind of fun without all the worries ownership. So drop in sometime, I'm here from 12 to 6.

If you want a unique part of the bike shop history. This is a giant bicycles beach cruiser that the rear rim was painted a checkerboard pattern. The side skirts were made on the rear fender the front wheel is a metal mag wheel to look like a propeller . Each part of the bike was designed to fit the theme. And the name was to honor Lou Sawyer one of the original owners of the shop. This was a passion project for the employees that worked on it.
