Stryker Sports Complex to host a Community Vigil, Wednesday, October 21 at 6:30 pm

The community is invited to come together in compassion and support for the families, friends, and everyone affected by Saturday's tragic events at Stryker Sports Complex.

This vigil is an opportunity to remember those impacted, offer comfort to one another, and stand together as a community during this difficult time.

Address: 2999 N. Greenwich, Wichita, KS 67226

Counseling and Support: COMCARE counselors will be available in classrooms inside the Ford building for anyone who would like someone to talk to or needs additional support.

Wichita Police Department personnel will also be present to assist attendees as needed.

Important Event Information: To help ensure a safe and respectful gathering, please do not bring candles or other open flames. Battery-operated candles and cell phone flashlights are welcome.

The vigil will be the only event taking place at the Stryker facility that evening.

Our hearts remain with everyone affected by this weekend’s tragic events at Stryker Sports Complex. We want to share a few important updates with our community.

FACILITY & SAFETY UPDATE

Stryker will reopen today, October 19, at 3 p.m. Temporary safety barriers are being installed throughout the facility and will remain until permanent solutions are implemented. Those attending practices or rentals tonight should expect to see these barriers in place.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

COMCARE will be on site October 19–21, from 5:30–10 p.m., offering support to individuals and families.

Additional assistance is available by calling or texting 988 or calling (316) 660-7500.

COMMUNITY VIGIL

A vigil is being planned for Wednesday evening. Details will be shared once finalized.

Wichita Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community. Please rely on official WPD updates and avoid sharing unverified information.

STRYKER SPORTS COMPLEX UPDATE

All games, programming, and rentals scheduled for today, Sunday, October 18, have been canceled.

If you need to retrieve your vehicle from the facility today, please call 316-260-1060, ext. 0, and leave a message.

Regular operations are expected to resume tomorrow, Monday, October 19.

We are heartbroken by the serious incident that took place earlier today at Stryker Sports Complex, with the death of an adult and a child, and multiple other injuries. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in attendance, the families and loved ones affected during this difficult time.

Sedgwick County COMCARE will have the Stress/Trauma Assistance Team (STAT) at Stryker Sports Complex starting Monday, Oct. 19 through Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 5:30 – 10 p.m. The STAT will be located in the main indoor field building. The team consists of mental health professionals who are trained to help children, adolescents, adults and families following a disaster or traumatic event. Being at Stryker Sports Complex allows STAT to be where the kids are and make a place that may now be scary safe again.

PUBLIC NOTICE — STRYKER SPORTS COMPLEX

Due to a serious incident at Stryker Sports Complex, all events have been canceled until further notice.

We ask that you keep all individuals and families affected in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Please avoid the complex to allow emergency personnel to carry out their work. Updates regarding future events will be shared as information becomes available.

🚨Registration deadline is Tuesday, November 3rd! 🚨
WRSA Youth Winter League 2026

All teams will play at Stryker Sports Complex on the indoor field.
8 scheduled games for all age groups.
U13 to U19 teams will play 6v6 (max 18 roster)
U9 to U12 teams will play 7v7 (KSYSA max roster applies)
U7-U8 teams will play 5v5 (KSYSA max roster applies)
U9 to U19: 25-minute halves, 5-minute halftime
U7 to U8: 20-minute halves, 5-minute halftime
Fees (based on 8 scheduled games):
U13 to U19 - $975
U9 to U12 – $840
U7-U8 - $705
No new player fees unless team was not registered with KSYS for Fall 2025.
Newly registered teams will be subject to KSYS player and coach fees.
League will begin December 4th and run through February 7th. Registration deadline is Tuesday, November 3rd!

WRSA League Games
Update

Canceled - 8/9... all games that have not started are cancelled due to extreme temperatures on the fields. The league will reach out to all teams affected to reschedule games on future dates.

We are cancelling the scheduled coach meeting for this evening. Please spread the word to your fellow club coaches! An email with important league reminders and a link to the Fall 2026 schedule will be sent out later today.

Office staff will be available to take payments this evening until 7pm. For WRSA teams - if you have been contacted by your registrar saying your player cards are ready to be picked up, those will be available this evening and tomorrow during regular business hours. (We will be closed Friday, July 31st.) If you have not been contacted, please email your office contact for an update.

Recreational Teams - Alaina will contact you letting you know when your team uniforms are ready for pick up.

Preliminary Fall 2026 divisions for boys and girls U9 and U10 have been posted. Final placements will be determined in the WRSA Placement Meetings held July 14 & 15. Head coaches will be sent meeting details by Monday, July 13th.

The Alpha listing for U5-U8 teams has also been posted. WRSA will determine placements for all recreational teams based on the number of team applications and team division requests.

Please do not email or call the office regarding placements unless your team is in the wrong age group or is not listed! All questions about final placements will be handled during the placement meetings.

**Final divisions for U11 and older will be posted by Monday, July 13th.**
