Eric Steele at the summit of Mt. Whitney (14,496 ft.) after finishing the Badwater 135. Total cumulative time from the Badwater Basin at -282 feet below sea level to the summit of Mt. Whitney: 77:19:56. Eric was the first Kansan to finish the Badwater 135 in 2000 and is still the ONLY Kansan to ever summit Mt. Whitney afterwards (since Al Arnold's original trek in 1977)...the "one and only way" it was ever MEANT to be done!!!
