I can’t believe they’re over 🥹 Recitals we’re fabulous and I’m always in shock when we take the last bow. How did the week fly by? How did all the years with our seniors come to an end in the blink of an eye? It’s always bittersweet and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I’m beyond grateful for my staff, our families, our dancers, and everyone else that makes DPA what it is. A place to nurture those doing what they love. Thank you everyone for another wonderful season and I can’t wait to do it all again!! I took as many pics as possible tonight (shared below) and if I missed one with you, then make sure we get one next year!!! 🥰🥰

Yesterday was our last night of classes for the 2022/2023 season! What an incredible year we have had.

Make sure you get your tickets for recital and see our amazing dancers shine!!!

Today we were blown away by all of our dancers who auditioned. So proud of each and every one of you.

Auditions for DAC & DAZZLERS are this Sunday (June 4th)!!!
If you are planning to audition for dazzlers please do not forget about the MANDATORY parent meetings.

Something to keep in mind as summer classes approach. You’ll have a solid 3 weeks off after recitals and then another couple weeks off once school starts, so we encourage you to take the plunge and spend 6 weeks with us in at least 1 of your favorite classes! 💕

Dance Students: You cannot take the summer off dance and pick up where you left off. Dance is not a seasonal sport. These are dance facts of life.

If you take an entire summer off or take only a few classes here and there, plan to begin the fall having lost at least 50% of the strength, stamina, placement, flexibility, and mental focus that you gained in the previous year.

If you study dance 2-4 days per week over the summer, plan to maintain the level you created during the school year but not necessarily improve—unless that 2-4 days per week is significantly more than you are used to.

If you want to improve your dance immensely, attend a summer intensive in addition to consistent classes while you are home. Or stay home and attend a full schedule of classes at your home studio.

These decisions will affect your placement level in the fall and possibly your long term dance goals.

I intend no judgement here. I am pointing out the physical and mental demands of long term progress in dance. People have different goals with their dance training. Make sure that your actions match up to and will create your goals.

Dancing as a hobby is fantastic and gives you space to take longer periods of time off.

If you want a dance career, yes, go ahead and take a week or two for rest and relaxation. (It’s good for you.) But more than that hinders progress. The choice is yours.

DRESS REHEARSAL & PICTURE WEEK AT DPA!

NO REGULAR CLASSES!

* Room 5 and 6 are dressing rooms. You can get ready and do hair and makeup in those rooms.

* Pictures in room 7.

* Dress rehearsal in room 8. (NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED)

-Hair Note Below-

Hair is a middle part, slicked down to a low ponytail for everyone in munchkin/pre-k/kinder/kids classes. (Buns for those ballet classes).

Hair is down for all leveled, youth, and senior classes, but HAVE A HAIR TIE READY TO PULL YOUR HAIR UP FOR DRESS REHEARSAL.

WHAT IS “DAC”???
The “Danse Arts Company” is a pre-professional performance company for ages 8-18 and is by audition only. Dancers will learn and perform choreography in a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, and more throughout the season and perform a full-length dance concert in January. DAC is designed to enhance the students’ performing experience as well as prepare them to perform professionally.

What an incredible show with so many wonderful kids! The talent they shared with 2 packed houses was impressive and we are so grateful to all who came to support us.
