Congrats Stew!!
The BWBL Council has unanimously decided to change the name of our last award to the Joe Pugh Sportsman of the Year in honor of our friend.
The 2nd Annual Joe Pugh Sportsman of the Year is Stew Caladie of False Idols!
Stew exemplifies the type of player you want to see representing the BWBL. His competitive fire and work ethic has led to him developing into one of the best hitters in the league, and he’s done it with a positive attitude and easy-going personality. Stew has been a great teammate, an honest player, and can often be found chatting with the opponent after games. Those qualities make it easy to see why he is one of the most respected and well-liked players in the BWBL and is certainly a worthy recipient of the Joe Pugh Sportsman of the Year.
Stew beat out Mike Cinti, Steve Dotzel, Joe Foose, Alex Fuchylo, and Joey Rowley for the most closely contested award of the season (and perhaps ever)!
That concludes our awards for the 2023 season. Have a great off-season and we will see you all back on the field in May!

A split with Roadkill ends our season with a 14-6 record and secured us the 3rd seed for the Playoffs!
David Brigido breaks the scoreless tie with this home run in the top of the 5th inning. Then Brett Caladie extends the lead to 2-0 with his solo shot just two batters later!
