🏒🔥 Fall Youth League – Week 2 Recap!!! 🔥🏒
We all enjoyed the long Labor Day weekend, but before the holiday break, we kicked things off with a full night of Youth Dek Hockey action on Thursday! 🙌
After a Week 1 filled with new rosters, new players, and plenty of adjustments, Week 2 gave us some familiar faces returning, some new players scoring their first career points, and even agame cut short by approaching thunderstorms! ⛈️
Here’s how the action went:

🐿️ 5:30 PM – Chipmunks Division
Snares 9, Macaroni 1
The Snares may be a brand-new team, but they are already showing that they are very well-balanced! They faced a Macaroni team coming off an easy Week 1 victory, but this time around they were without their two best offensive players. To make matters even tougher, their goalie Hunter Hynes was dealing with an injury and had a tough time getting down to make some saves.
Bristol Ahlbrandt clearly put in some extra work during her time away from the rink, because she came out FIRING! 🔥 She scored two goals in the first period, added another later, and finished with a hat trick and two assists!

Aidan Walsh continued his hot start to the season as well, scoring a hat trick for the second straight game. As one of the oldest and more experienced players in the division this session, he has been making his presence felt early!

And we had another great milestone as first-time player Talon Balucha scored his FIRST CAREER GOAL! 🎉
The Macaroni were able to avoid the shutout when Damian Lee found the back of the net in the third, but the Snares cruised to a 9-1 victory.

1️⃣ Bristol Ahlbrandt, Snares – First career hat trick + 2 assists
2️⃣ Aidan Walsh, Snares – Hat trick in his second straight game
3️⃣ Talon Balucha, Snares – First career goal!!!

Chinstraps 7, Galapagos 4
The Chinstraps had a tough Week 1 without their star player, but Carmine Tolli was BACK this week — and he SHOWED OUT! 😳🔥
Carmine wasted absolutely no time, scoring FOUR GOALS IN THE FIRST PERIOD to give the Chinstraps a huge early advantage.
Evan Davison was able to get the Galapagos on the board, but Carmine wasn't finished. He added two more goals in the second period, while Emily Hooper and Evan Davison teamed up to help the Galapagos battle back.
After two periods, it was 6-3, setting up an exciting finish.
Carmine then added his SEVENTH GOAL OF THE GAME to put the dagger in it! Evan Davison wasn't done either, completing his own hat trick to cap off a strong individual performance for the Galapagos.
Final Score: Chinstraps 7, Galapagos 4

🦫 6:30 PM – Beavers Division
Royals 10, Tuxedos 3
The Royals came out absolutely FLYING against a younger and less experienced Tuxedos squad, putting up a whopping SEVEN GOALS IN THE FIRST PERIOD!

Multiple Royals players found the scoresheet, including TJ Haloskie, who scored his FIRST CAREER GOAL! 🎉
The Tuxedos finally broke through when Jackson Degnan buried a breakaway goal off a beautiful feed from Cameron Roth.

Braidyn Drasher then blasted another point shot along the ground to complete his hat trick and put the game well out of reach.
Jeremiah Israel added a couple of goals for the Tuxedos, but the Royals were too much to overcome.

There was also some GREAT sportsmanship on display. With the game already out of reach, Khloe Konopinski and Jordan Card stepped in to play for the Tuxedos and help them finish out the game. 👏❤️

Kings 5, Emperors 1
The Emperors came into this one fresh off their thrilling Week 1 shootout victory, but they had a tough matchup ahead against a Kings team that dominated in Week 1.

Preston Roche was back in net for the Kings, filling in between the pipes, and the Kings jumped out to a 3-1 lead behind goals from Dylan Mlaker and Collin Krugel.

Connor Gaughan got the Emperors back into the game with a goal, but Dylan Mlaker answered right back, completing his hat trick to make it 4-1 after two periods. Liam Dutzar picked up the assist on the goal for his FIRST CAREER POINT IN THE BEAVERS DIVISION! 👏

Collin Krugel then buried his second point shot of the game to make it 5-1 and put the Kings firmly in control.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans! ⛈️ With thunderstorms approaching, the game had to be ended early for safety.

🏒🔥 Fall Youth League – Week 1 Recap!!! 🔥🏒
Week 1 of the Fall Youth Dek Hockey League is officially in the books! 🙌
With several star players either moving up to a different division, sitting out Week 1, or simply unable to make it, a few teams were definitely feeling the effects of the roster changes right out of the gate. But that’s part of the fun of a new season! With so many new faces and players taking on bigger roles, it’ll take a few games for these teams to find their groove.
That said, we still had plenty of action, including one CRAZY close game to finish the day! Here’s how Week 1 went:

🐿️ 9 AM – Chipmunks Division
Snares 6, Galapagos 0
The Snares came into the Fall season with a completely different roster — not a single player from the Summer session! However, two players returned from the Spring, and they made an immediate impact.
The Snares jumped out to a 4-0 lead, with two goals from Aidan Walsh and another from returning player Bristol Ahlbrandt, who hadn’t played since last Fall!
Meanwhile, Elliot Sepela, the other returning Snares player, was HUGE in net. He shut down a veteran Galapagos squad and the reigning champions, who had plenty of chances but were missing their top goal scorer, Cameron Roth, who moved up to the Beavers Division.
Walsh added two more goals to finish off the Galapagos and cap off an impressive four-goal performance!
⭐ Three Stars

2️⃣ Elliot Sepela, Snares – Shutout
3️⃣ Bristol Ahlbrandt, Snares – Goal in her return after a full year away

Macaroni 9, Chinstraps 0
After a tough Summer season with plenty of losses, the Macaroni came out of the gates on the right foot!
They faced a Chinstraps team without their star player and with two brand-new players on the roster. Matteo Marone also moved into net for the Chinstraps this session and did a great job despite seeing TONS of shots.
With the roster and attendance situation giving Macaroni a big advantage, Tate Duffy and Nolan Sherlock took full advantage, scoring FOUR goals each to lead Macaroni to the shutout victory!
⭐ Three Stars

2️⃣ Nolan Sherlock, Macaroni – 4 goals
3️⃣ Matteo Marone, Chinstraps – Goalie debut and faced a ton of shots

🦫 Beavers Division
Kings 10, Tuxedos 0
The Kings came out FLYING against a Tuxedos team that looks completely different from last session.
The Tuxedos were without their two top players and have several smaller, younger players moving up and joining the roster. It’s a big adjustment moving into the Beavers Division, and it’s going to take some time for them to get used to the different game and play style!
The Kings, meanwhile, jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one and never looked back.
Owen LaPalme, the Kings’ new goalie, didn’t see many shots but still pitched a shutout. And talk about BALANCE — five different Kings players scored twice, and ALL FIVE also added an assist!
Nick Benz, Sylar Fox, Preston Roche, Dylan Mlaker, and Collin Krugel all finished with 2 goals and 1 assist! 👏🔥

🔥 11 AM – Emperors 8, Royals 7 (SO) 🔥
Ironically, the final game of the day was the ONLY close game of Week 1 — and the only game where BOTH teams scored!
The Emperors came out roaring, jumping ahead 4-1 behind two goals each from Grayson Rosentel and Connor Gaughan.
The Royals fought their way back in the second period, with balanced scoring from Khloe Konopinski, Jordan Card, and Landon Padavan but still trailed 5-4 heading into the third.
Then things got WILD.
The Royals rallied for three goals in the third to take the lead, but goalie-turned-player Jacob Feeney came up BIG again, tying the game late for the Emperors and sending it to a shootout!
Both teams scored twice in the first three rounds, sending the game into sudden death.
The new goalies — Dean Colwell for the Emperors, playing his first career game in net, and Mikey Card for the Royals — both stepped up in a HUGE way.
It took until the 9th shooter before the deadlock was finally broken, with former goalie Jacob Feeney coming through AGAIN for the Emperors, scoring the shootout winner!
What a way to end Week 1! 😳🔥
⭐ Three Stars
1️⃣ Jacob Feeney, Emperors – Game-tying goal AND shootout winner in his first game as a player
2️⃣ Connor Gaughan, Emperors – 4 goals
3️⃣ Dean Colwell, Emperors – Shootout-winning goalie and solid debut in net

🏒 The season is JUST getting started!
There are plenty of new rosters, new players, new goalies, and players stepping into bigger roles. It may take a few weeks for everyone to find their chemistry, but if Week 1 was any indication, we should be in for a very competitive Fall season!

🍂🏒 FALL YOUTH DEK HOCKEY LEAGUE ROSTER PREVIEWS! 🏒🍂
We're getting right back at it THIS SUNDAY as the Youth Fall Dek Hockey League gets underway! With players moving up, new faces joining the league, position changes, and some familiar cores returning, there are plenty of questions heading into the new season!

Here’s how the Chipmunks & Beavers Division rosters are shaping up 👇
🐿️ CHIPMUNKS DIVISION
CHINSTRAPS
The Chinstraps are losing some key pieces, including standout goalie Jaxson Bonham, with Matteo Marone stepping into the crease full-time. But don't count them out! Their star Carmine Tolli is back and bringing his little brother along with some brand-new players. As long as Carmine is wearing the Chinstraps jersey, they'll always have a chance! 👀🔥

GALAPAGOS
The defending champions will have to replace star Cameron Roth, who is moving up to the Beavers Division, but they'll still have much of their championship core returning. They're also getting a boost from the return of two up-and-coming players from their spring team — the Verstrand siblings! Can the champs defend their title? 🏆

MACARONI
The Macaroni are bringing back almost their entire roster, giving them plenty of continuity heading into the fall. Their biggest change comes with leading goal scorer Brayden Woodling moving up to the Beavers Division. Can the rest of the crew step up and fill that scoring void? 👀

SNARES
The Snares may have the biggest roster changes of the Chipmunks Division, but they still have two very important pieces returning: their spring goalie and leading goal scorer in Elliott Sepela and Aidan Walsh. With a revamped roster around them, this could be a very balanced Snares team! ⚡

🦫 BEAVERS DIVISION
EMPERORS
The Emperors are returning with a roster that looks very similar to last season — except for two major pieces. One of their big offensive weapons, Connor Hampton, is not returning, and they'll also have a new goalie with limited experience but plenty of potential in Dean Colwell. With the right training and coaching, could we see a breakout season in net? 🥅

KINGS
The Kings lose two major offensive weapons in the Swetter brothers, but they're bringing in some serious reinforcements. Preston Roche is moving out from between the pipes to play the field full-time, while newcomer Joey Snell brings size, athleticism, and a whole lot of potential. And after winning a championship with the Royals, Owen LaPalme will strap on the pads full-time for the Kings this session! 🥅🔥

ROYALS
The Royals will have to replace two offensive stars in Alex Silva and Owen LaPalme, but they get a major piece back with DB returning from the spring. With Khloe still leading the offense, don't expect the Royals to slow down anytime soon! They also will have a new goalie with Mikey Card between the pipes again after previous seasons of experience and is only bigger, older, and smarter now!!💪

TUXEDOS
The Spring season Beavers champs have perhaps the biggest challenge ahead of them. They'll lose their two best players AND their goalie from last season. But the Tuxedos are reloading! Sullivan Smith is moving over to play goalie full-time, and they're adding a bunch of small, speedy players who have been tearing up the Chipmunks Division over the past couple of years. ⚡🏆

With all the new rosters, new positions, returning stars, and players moving up between divisions, there are A LOT of storylines heading into Fall Hockey!

Who will adjust the quickest? Who will surprise us? And who will be lifting the championship trophy when it's all said and done? 🏆👀
