My method of changing golf swings can often involve a lot of pieces. Early in my career I would give students just 1-3 things to work on. Now, if students have a bad swing we change 17 things at one time. It seems audacious, and it is, but if you use foam balls and have freezer protocols, you can actually develop a great swing much faster than drip by drip. Even so, I don't like changing things that might look ugly, so long as they are functional. For instance, crossing the line at the top and bending the left arm like Peete does here. They don't hurt his mechanics or speed at all, so you have to keep them. Calvin Peete was the straightest hitter on tour for a decade, averaging over 80% of fairways hit for multiple years ➡️ And remarkably, he was reasonably long as well. His unorthodox swing has all the true fundmentals for great accuracy ✅ Width, shallow, relatively zero path, and a low left throw/hold off release ✅ A childhood accident kept him from straightening his left arm, but it certainly didn't impact his accuracy.
