The only way you master a pitch is to throw it in bullpens Over & over.
Not continually in a game if you’re struggling with it.
It’s only after a pitcher masters a pitch that he will have the confidence to throw it at any time during a game.
Any pitcher is better off throwing a pitch he has 100% confidence in than any other.
You never stop working on your arsenal or your craft, especially if you are struggling, just because the season is under way.
MLB or any high level players never stop working during the season.

Coach Pete Cimino: Pro Level Pitching & Hitting Instructor (est June 2014) 30+ years of playing coaching & instruction experience. Biomechanics & science based.
Rotational mechanics. Max Rotational Body Speed = Max) Pitching Velocity and Max Hitting Power NSOB: An innovative, modern concept of teaching the game of baseball and softball; relying heavily on scientifically proven drills that work.
Some High Points of safe & effective pitching mechanics.
Safe in the if don’t properly takes as much stress off the arm as possible.
Effective in that it promotes maximum velocity, optimum accuracy, late breaking off speed pitches.
Science plays a huge role in determining angles & timing.
You want high math number in analytics? The best way to do that is to use the science that promotes safe & effective mechanics in order to get you there.
This is in my world.
If it’s not yours so be it.
I know what works. What keeps pitchers safe & brings the best chance for enduring effectiveness.
Over 12 years of learning, growing & evolving to keep up with the most modern & effective trends in the industry.
These talented young players are great pitchers with lots of work still to do
Work they take on with passion & pride

High points of accuracy in mechanics are critical. Doesn’t matter how hard you throw. If you don’t stay straight you will struggle with accuracy.
Here this young pitcher is struggling with his upper body staying straight and going towards his target.
Upper body accuracy is led by
1. Eyes level & on Target
2. Glove to center of chest.
The drill used works specifically on these 2 critical accuracy high points.
Pitching is timing.
Timing is each body movement not only correct but accomplished at the exact time it needs to be.
That timing is milliseconds. I always say football is a game of inches. But baseball is a game of millimeters and milliseconds.
The timing here is the position of the pitching arm when your strike foot lands & is flat on the ground.
The arm needs to be in an “L” position torqued behind the head to achieve maximum velocity & optimum accuracy. Some refer to the scaps in your body. But if the mechanics are right you don’t have to talk about that because it’s already there.
If the arm is late the miss is usually arm side. Or sometimes the pitch instinctively pulls because he feels late.
If the arm is early the miss is usually glove side.
I call this “The right part of the body at the right place at the right time doing the right thing.”
I hear coaches yell this ridiculous statement. “Make the adjustment!”
That does not help the pitcher!
Tell him why he’s missing and what the adjustment is. Because most young pitchers don’t know.
And sadly neither do the coaches!!
Arm Safe / Max Velocity/ Optimum accuracy.
I will always stand firm behind the science that supports the Pitching mechanics that I teach.
The number one goal is arm safety.
When you learn & begin to master the rotational mechanics that come from the science, the other 2 major goals of pitching follow suit automatically.
1. Maximum Velocity
2. Optimum accuracy.
I don’t care what detractors who don’t know much of anything about the biomechanics/ physics of pitching say. We don’t speak the same language.
Every post I make. Every instruction I give is supported by science.
How people can say science is wrong I don’t know.
People have the right to say or think whatever they want.
But as I have done throughout my 12 year career as a highly successful instructor, I am always open to: LEARN. GROW. EVOLVE. And I continue to do that I order to stay on top of new info that can make my players better.
Those that don’t have effective knowledge should do their own research. Dig deep. Start with arm safety. Add the accuracy & then the velo.
Follow the science.

Just because seasons are starting does NOT mean you are done training.
Training never stops.
Learning, growing & evolving never stops.
Getting better never stops.
Yes, everyone is busy with games & practice. But, to find an hour to come in and conduct a sanity check of mechanics and mental approach goes a long way.
Or, could be you are not satisfied with where you are.
Something is off mechanically or mentally.
Your performance on the field isn’t quite there
You don’t feel confident.
These things do not fix themselves.

Nick’s Varsity start vs West Aurora. Saturday 4.11.26
Dominant performance.
5 innings
83 pitches
7 strikeouts (5 in a row)
2 runs / 1 earned run
Nothing hit hard.
They won 3-2 on a walk-off in the bottom of the 7th.
He didn’t get the win, but it didn’t matter.
His performance spoke for itself.
One for the books.
