✅️Only registered campers can sleep in their cars or leave a car overnight in the park.

✅️Only folks who purchased a spot at the group campsites may set up a canopy for a personal aid station. Everyone else gets to use the designated drop bag area and can bring a chair.

Mark your calendar and tell your friends! We have a date for the 2026 edition of The 16 Hour Lock-In, located in the Carolina Beach State Park, just outside of Wilmington, NC.

👟 Race begins at 9am Saturday November 21, 2026, and ends at 1am Sunday November 22, 2026.

🔒 The 16 Hour Lock-In is a no-DNF ultra marathon in which participants have 16 hours to run a 4.5 mile trail loop as many times as they wish. Our goal is to bring athletes of different paces and abilities to compete together, whether your goal is to finish a single lap or many laps. Cool punk rock patches given for finishing a Recognized Race Distance (13.1 / 26.2 / 50k / 50 mile / 100k). In keeping with ultramarathon tradition, a hundred mile finish receives a belt buckle.

⏰️ Please note this race has historically sold out within the first few hours of registration opening. Set notifications for 8am Saturday Feb 21st and the opening of Race Registration!

🧷 The 64 Hour Club: new this year, the club for folks crazy enough to participate in four or more Lock-Ins (16×4). Some sort of cool swag, more info coming!

And The Andre Award** goes to Jenny Lee Trest, the very last racer to cross the finish before the clock ran out at 1am! Jenny threw down an amazing race, heading back out to grab a 50 mile finish after I told her we were out of 50k patches!😬

**The Andre Award is something we are planning to make official next year. It will be awarded to the racer who embodies the spirit of a 16 Hour Race by going until the clock runs out, and is given to the very last person to cross the finish line at 1 am. Named after Andre Leonard, who for three years managed to be that last person 😅 (this year he was Jenny’s pacer!)

Congratulations Jenny on a nail biting, 50 mile finish! 🏆

Both our F1 and M1 set new course records this weekend! 🏆 April Bailey finished first overall, setting the new course record (and women's course record) at 76.5 miles in the process. Jason Daniels also ran 76.5 miles, finishing just behind April, setting the new men's course record in the process.

Congratulations to both, who displayed amazing sportsmanship all day as well! Such an honor to watch both of you gut out a hard race!

The 16 Hour Lock-In DONE! What an amazing year, with 2 course records, tons of PRs and new distances, and more mosquito bites than anyone thought possible! We hope everyone made as many friends and memories as we did this weekend. For now, let's get unpacked, cleaned up and rested. Posting race photos later and results this week.
