Red-hot Warriors end Hurricane season 8-0 - Wilmington News Journal GOSHEN — Wilmington’s five-game win streak ended Tuesday with an 8-0 loss to a red-hot Goshen team in Division III Southwest 2 District tournament game.

Four WHS varsity players were named 1st Team All-League in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference:
•Lauren Diels, senior
•Makenna Dorsch, junior
•Allie Martin, junior
•Peyton Groves, sophomore
Diels and Martin were given Honorable Mention for All-District honors.
Mckynlei Cramton, freshman, was named 2nd Team All-League.

Hurricane gaining strength, wins 5th straight with tourney upset - Wilmington News Journal OXFORD — The Wilmington High School softball team is catching fire at the right time.

Lauren Diels was dominant in Wilmington’s 2-1 tournament victory over 3-seed Talawanda, extending the seniors’ final season.
Diels pitched a complete game, scattering seven hits over seven innings. She allowed only one run and struck out 10.
Morgan Mertz drove in both Hurricane runs, and that was all Diels needed. The team played flawless defense in support of Diels.

Wilmington’s varsity softball team won its 15th game of the season tonight, defeating Bishop Fenwick High School 8-2.
Lauren Diels pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits. She struck out 16 batters. Diels was 3-for-4 at the plate.
McKenna Dorsch was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a home run.
Kynlei Cramton was 4-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base.
Morgan Mertz was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

The team plays in the post-season tournament Thursday at Talawanda High School.

Lady Cane Softball defeated Fenwick tonight and finished the regular season with 15-7 record. This is the team’s best record since 2014!

Tonight Lauren Diels struck out 14 of the 17 batters she faced in a five-inning complete-game shutout at home vs. Bethel-Tate. 🙌🏼Wilmington won 10-0.
Diels also got two hits.
Peyton Groves got two hits, including a home run.
Makenna Dorsch got two hits, including a home run.
The two back-to-back home runs were in the third inning.
Wilmington’s varsity beat New Richmond 11-8 today. 🙌🏼🥎
Lauren Diels got her 600th career strikeout. 6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣
Diels pitched seven innings, allowing only two earned runs on 10 hits, and she had nine strikeouts.
Peyton Groves had four hits, while Destiny Clark, Makenna Dorsch, and Diels each had two hits.
