Hunting Carolinas

25 years ago I was in the middle of a live run on a trench clearing range on Fort Bragg. We had heard of a plane hitting a tower on a wind up radio the hmmmv Driver had. We got called cold in the middle of the range, and the trajectory of all American lives changed. No matter your personal beliefs on this event, 9/11 brought together Americans in a way no one had seen since Pearl Harbor. I wish Americans could remember the patriotism, and love of our country like the days and weeks that followed. For those of us who spent the rest of our careers in combat, training for combat and bringing the pain to our enemies our lives changed. The warrior caste in this country is a real thing, and always will be. There always will be men and women ready to bring the pain to our enemies, both foreign and domestic. To those who answered the call, thank you. To those still serving, thank you. Check in on each other often, and call them big dawg. I’ve kinda been digging that lately. Never forget.
