✨Protein✨
Everyone needs it. It’s the building blocks of our bodies. Without it, we’d lose muscle and our bones would crumble (little bit of an exaggeration but really)
Women need protein for so many reasons. And the majority of women don’t eat enough. They’re always shocked when we explain how much they need if they want to hit their goals.
Interested in learning more about your protein habits and how we can help you improve them? Text us at 910.338.9262 to schedule a discovery call!

We love data!
Recently, a client came back to work with us and at the beginning of their package, we did an with them to get a baseline.
About 5 weeks after, we did another InBody scan and oh how happy we were to see the results!
This clients goal was never about weight, but rather about feeling healthy and strong after some medical setbacks.
She lost 1lb while GAINING 1.1lb of MUSCLE💪 ! And lost almost 2% body fat. (Scroll to see the change)
This is a reminder that fitness isn’t always about weight loss, and that the number on the scale doesn’t reflect everything that is happening within the body. We love using our InBody to show our members the changes that they’re making, because they may not always see them the way they hope!

I’m a day late with my nutrition tip!🙃
This week’s topic:
Fruit - Should we eat it?
Fruit is composed of glucose and fructose. Glucose is utilized by the brain and other tissues and any excess is stored as glycogen first (to be converted to energy later) and if not utilized it will be stored as fat. Fructose is sent directly to the liver to be metabolized by an enzyme called fructokinase.
☼ What does this mean?! Well, over time if HIGH amounts of fructose are consumed it can lead to the liver’s inability to breakdown fat (leading to insulin resistance). Choosing fruits high in fiber, like berries, guava, pears, apples, and oranges can help with the way our body metabolizes fruit.
We enter dangerous territory when we consume excess processed fructose (aka: High Fructose Corn Syrup, HFCS). HCFS is linked to high blood pressure, obesity, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
Fun fact- It was nearly impossible to find high concentrations of sugar in the diet UNTIL sugar was processed - now it’s normal.
Takeaway: Everyone can benefit from eating fruit. Fruit contains several phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and water - which we need! Also, it is better to get our sugar from these real, whole food sources rather than processed foods.
