Title IX is More Than Sports

Did you know? Many people think Title IX is only about athletics—but that's just one part of the story.

Title IX protects students from s*x discrimination in educational programs and activities receiving federal funding. It helps ensure equal access to academics, athletics, STEM and career programs, and supports safe learning environments for all students.

Learn how Title IX impacts students across Delaware by reading OWAA's new fact sheet.

UV Safety Awareness Month in July is a national reminder to protect skin and eyes from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

Women and girls are at increased risk due to hormonal changes, higher skin cancer incidence rates, and sometimes delayed sun protection habits. UV exposure also causes premature aging, eye damage, and immune suppression

Summer fun starts with sun safety! Protect your skin by wearing sunscreen, seeking shade, and wearing protective clothing. A few simple steps today can help reduce your risk of skin damage for years to come.

Love the sun. Protect your skin.

Honoring the legacy that paved the way.

Today we continue to share from the She's on Her Way Luncheon with this special video that was shown at the event. It's highlighting two past She’s On Her Way recipients, Brenda Wise and Cimone Sylver — whose leadership and dedication continue to inspire young women across Delaware.

Their journeys remind us why this work matters and why we celebrate the women who lift communities, create change, and open doors for others.

Watch their spotlight in the attached video and join us in recognizing their continued impact.

National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental health matters for everyone, but not everyone has equal access to care. This month, we recognize the importance of breaking stigma, increasing awareness, and supporting culturally responsive mental health resources for women and communities of color. Every conversation can make a difference.

Let's help make mental health a priority for all.
