Congratulations to our PCD 🐉 TEAM on an excellent performance at The TCT /PPKF 2026 Martial Games hosted by Keith and Kenny Green Jr. this weekend. We had five students make it to the Grands Runoffs. Avalon, Phineas, Elorie, Mr. Noah and Master Yu who won Double Grands. Great performances everyone 👊

Congratulations to Jaxon Votke, DMA's September Star STUDENT!! Jaxon has been selected for his outstanding demonstration of a martial artist attitude. When Jax is on the mat, it's game on for exceptional leadership, champion-level determination, and a can't-stop, won't-stop mindset. Jaxon has been invited to compete at the ICO World Championship in October in France. He is a consistently places TOP-3 at tournaments up to the national level and recently received his 2nd Degree Black Belt with Master Yu. Jaxon is a positive role model, always willing and eager to help, and we are honored to have him as part of our DMA Family. We can't wait to see all of the amazing things he will accomplish. If you get the chance, please give him a high-five or pat on the back - this is one martial artist who's put in the time to earn it. Great job, Jax, and congratulations!!

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Master Yu on being nominated for induction into the American Freestyle Karate Association (AFKA) Hall of Fame, receiving the distinguished honor of “Legendary Lifetime Master.”

This recognition honors a martial arts journey spanning nearly 50 years. From beginning his own training as a child to dedicating approximately 25 years to teaching, coaching, mentoring, and developing martial artists, Master Yu has made martial arts a lifelong commitment.

Throughout those years, he has had the privilege of helping students grow from beginners into black belts, instructors and competitors, while continuing to train, learn, coach and contribute to the martial arts community himself.

The AFKA Hall of Fame recognizes individuals for their long-term dedication, instruction, leadership, mentorship, competition, and service to the martial arts — qualities that have defined Master Yu’s journey for decades.

Master Yu was nominated by Grand Master Lawrence Arthur, founder of AFKA, for the Legendary Lifetime Master honor as part of AFKA’s 50th Anniversary Hall of Fame celebration.
