That's a Bud Light — and if you know, you know, because that's what I hand her after every holiday workout, and it's become one of those things that just is what it is around here. But the drink isn't what brought that smile out. What brought that smile out is what you don't see in this photo: the people who were still hanging around when she finished, the ones who didn't have to stay but stayed anyway, because that's what happens at CrossFit Ares when someone's still out there grinding. You don't manufacture that. You just keep showing up and it builds itself.

That smile isn't from the leaderboard or the clock — it's from knowing she did something today that she almost didn't do, and that feeling is real and it compounds, and every single time you walk out of here feeling like that, the next time gets just a little bit easier to walk in. That's the whole loop, and once you're in it, you're in it.

She's here to do the work, not to perform it — and if you've ever walked into a gym and felt like everyone else already knew the code and nobody gave you the sheet, that is not what this place is. We have people at every level, coaches who actually explain things, and a community where nobody's watching to see if you struggle because they're too busy doing their own work. Come find out what that feels like.

You don't get that by accident — you get it by showing up when you don't feel like it, by staying in it when you can't feel the progress yet, by trusting that the work compounds even when nothing seems to be changing and the only evidence you have is that you showed up again today. She figured that out, and if you're willing to, you can too.

I've been coaching long enough to know that what most people needed wasn't a harder program — it was someone actually in the room with them who could see what they were working with and help them do it better, and that's what this is. Not a machine, not a screen, not a program you follow alone at home — a real coach who cares whether you get it right, who meets you exactly where you are and goes from there, because that's the whole point of this place.

Somewhere out there is a version of you that almost skipped today — almost hit snooze, almost decided it wasn't the right time, almost let the mind's mind talk you out of it. This isn't that version. This is the one who picked up the bar anyway, and the results are going to be a side effect of that decision made over and over again. The showing up is the whole point.

She's not here thinking about the reps — she's thinking about the one coming next, and that's actually the thing that happens in this place that nobody can quite describe until they feel it. You stop living in your head about whether you belong here or whether you're doing it right and you start actually doing it, and somewhere in that shift is where everything changes. That's the whole thing.

06/13/2026

Look behind her — that's a room full of people who decided to do something hard today, not because it was easy or comfortable or because they had everything figured out, but because they made a decision and walked through the door and now they're doing it. The only thing that separates the people who change from the people who don't is that decision — not the talent, not the experience, not the fitness level you walked in with. Just the willingness to walk in. If you're reading this and thinking that could be you, it can.

You know what these two have in common? They both almost didn't come the first time — they both had every reason not to, and they came anyway, and now they're doing the CrossFit Open together and smiling like they knew it was going to go this way all along. That's the long game, and it has nothing to do with the leaderboard or the rank — it's about who you become when you just keep showing up, and what you get to say yes to because of it. Is that you?
