Perfect day for sailing on great Cowan Lake! The Highlander class is competing in the Mad Plaid Regatta. There are several boats from out of town and out of state.

Check out this Learn to Sail opportunity in Miami Township for kids ages 8-12! Led by US Sailing Level 1 certified instructors from CLSA, kids will learn sailing basics through hands-on, interactive activities.

Set sail on a new adventure ⛵

Our Learn to Sail class, starting April 29, is the perfect intro for youth ages 8–12 to dive into the exciting world of sailing! Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, kids will learn boat basics, wind awareness, how to steer a sailboat, and important water safety skills—all while building confidence and teamwork along the way.

Led by experienced instructors, this is a beginner-friendly program!

No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and sense of adventure 🌊

Cowan Lake Sailing Association is taking on the Highlander Class fleet at the 60th annual Pipers regatta this weekend at Lake Norman Yacht Club!

Jason Japikse Tanya Carey and Jamey Carey are killing it. 4 bullets today and only had one mark rounding they were not in first place for all day long!

We've got 3 teams from Cowan Lake competing in this year's Highlander Class National Championships at Louisville Sailing Club!

What a beautiful day we had for our Labor Day Regatta and party! It was a great evening and we loved hanging out with everyone for a great dinner. We'll have races 4 and 5 tomorrow to finish the Regatta.

We also elected our officers for the 2026 season tonight!

We are a little less than a week away from our Labor Day regatta and the party following racing on Saturday night!

The weather forecast looks great and I hope everyone joins us for some great racing.

Even if you don't race though, please come out for the party after! We will have some amazing food featuring a handcrafted taco bar. We'll elect our officers for 2026 and have some great beer and wine!
