slimah American Designer who is passionate about helping women get active, keep modest and keep winning. She is driven by women on a mission to improve themselves to be mentally and physically stronger through exercise, travel and adventure and designs solutions that help them on their journey. Latifa Ihsan Ali gets excited when she can use lines, color and fabric to make a difference in a woman’s life. She graduated from the University of Delaware in Apparel Design then soon after started her own adventure overseas to the Middle East to learn Arabic. She spent 10 years abroad also traveling to Yemen and Dubai and in the latter was truly inspired to use her skill set to design clothing to help women fully participate in and enjoy life. Latifa Ihsan Ali observed the Emirati women fully living life in clothes that did not compromise modesty. It was there when she was gifted a modest swimsuit and taken to an aqua aerobics class set on the private beach of the Dubai Ladies Club. LiaWear Action was formed when she returned in 2009. She debuted her active wear line the following year at the International Sisters Network Fashion Show and Luncheon in DC then started a fanpage on Facebook. In 2011 her Facebook fanpage received the Top 100 Muslim Women FB Fan Pages Award from American Muslim Mom. In 2013 she was selected to be one of the first designers to showcase her designs at the first Haute and Modesty Show held at the National Press Club.
