2020 has been a helluva year, huh? There was a lot of tragedy, punctuated with bright moments of hope. While we had many opportunities to rejoice, there was still so much to mourn.
Yet, I was reminded that tomorrow isn’t promised; so everything good ought to be savored; live in the moment. Never take what (or who) you have for granted, and never say “never,” because you never know what the future will hold...
These once cliched sayings are truly my mantras now. This year was painful yet necessary. And I dare say it changed me for the better.
So here’s to a beautiful celebration tonight and a bright 2021 for all! 🥂

I don’t know who needs to hear this but. . . You’re allowed to evolve and change your mind. You’re allowed to fall out of love with one thing and become passionate about something new.

This was a photo from a shoot circa 2015 (taken by ). For seven years, I devoted my life to wardrobe styling. I had two businesses, one of which was a styling agency, and I even had a couple of celeb clients. Then I moved to the A and realized I was enjoying styling less and less.

Do y’all know how long I struggled with letting that dream go? I left my full time job to pursue fashion and now I’m derailing all of the hard work I put in? Yep. But had I not done that I wouldn’t have had the chance to work as the editor-in-chief of two magazines and live out an old dream I had long dismissed as impossible.

If COVID-19 has taught us anything, it’s that you must be fluid with your future. Be open to detours and even delays. And if you find yourself being pulled in a different direction than you originally planned, that’s okay, too. Sometimes the seasons change.

Embrace it all and welcome your evolution. You’ll be a better person for it.
