Dear Students, Parents, extended families and alumni of Delaware Dance Center:
It is with great honor and gratitude I write to you with such a full and grateful heart filled with thanks to you all!
Embarking on retirement was not an easy decision, because that meant leaving behind something I love so much, all of you! I cannot express enough the deepest thanks to you all as you surrounded me with love, flowers, gifts, cards, text messages, surprise visits, shared tears, drawings from the kids and the endless ways you supported me through to this next chapter of my life. And to say I had the most amazing retirement party, well that’s just an understatement. Wow!!! I want to thank you for coming along with me on this incredible journey. You each have touched me in a very special way that I will always hold dear in my heart as amazing memories.
After many decades of dance, teaching and entrusting me with your children is one of the greatest honors I hold. Looking back on the photos on stage surrounded by my students and families, as I took my final bow, my heart is overwhelmingly full. I will remain “Miss Jane” to you all. Let’s have lunch, share a life lesson over the phone, send me a text of what’s happening in your life (funny pictures welcomed), or even if you get stuck on a dance step, I’d be happy to dust off the old shoes and take a trip down memory lane with you. Please reach out anytime. I would love to hear where your life journey takes you!
