INTENSE 365 Month 12: The End...of Fast Food ๐
This is the end of my latest cycle of , what I didnโt quite realize or remember was that my decision to level up, get more intense.. or at the very least more aware of self during this time coincided with basically the world shutting down๐โ.
For me it was 4mo after my mom had passed so I could care less what was open, but the last year was a version of reality, grief, more grief, and some epic joys I couldnโt have predicted.๐ค
Anyways you didnโt come for that you came for Elmo, well to sum it up fast food is a version of comfort food and even though we are not out of the woods yet, I for one am ready to start being uncomfortable again and growing. Iโve tried all the things and tho I highly recommend the Wendyโs Jalapeรฑo anything Iโm also here to tell you, you donโt need it, instead go after something else you REALLY want.

There are a myriad of diets, workouts, and tips out there to capture the heart and minds of the masses; hopeful and time-crunched.
Few will work though if you don't make the time for it to work, thus this month's challenge is to CHILL (off the Netflix).
For many, it is the appetizer, the main course, and the desert๐ฆ in our lives, while winning everyday is the veggies.๐ฅฆ
We need to eat our veggies first people, so I am proposing turning OFF the free flow of content to get you focused on the things that are REALLY important first...then getting that sweet sweet taste of .

Instead of trying to front-load how you think your year will go and thus ALL the changes you want to see now, instead consider how far last year went off the rails and try a different way, slow but deliberate.

This month I'm on my 10th month of Intensity, but you don't have to be, you can start from scratch today and join me in writing stuff down, or whatever you think will be the best way for YOU to start.
Either way just start.

Last week was the first anniversary of my Mom's death, and I couldn't even write that sentence without crying my eyes out to the point I couldn't see. ๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ฃ
All I wanted to do was walk away from it, have a drink, pass out and try again for a better day tomorrow.

I couldn't, though, because of last month's WIN ๐challenges; I had stuff to do! It was then I realized that I was escaping more than I'd care to admit.
****My needs had evolved, but my coping had not. ****

While my situation is unique, "OUR" situation of grief, loss, ambiguity and a host of other bad sh*t isn't; perhaps it's time to fine tune how we are coping with that.
โฃ
If your looking to come out into the next month (or actually next year) a bit better than you were before, maybe now is a good time to start making some shifts.

One small step for me is I'm going to stop drinking alone.
I didnโt do it "alot" but enough to know it's not serving me, it's not fun and feels sad to use a good IPA๐บ to rush through my night. I'd rather wait it out to have it with someone๐ป in my pod or outside (I have a jacket).

Intense 365 Month 8th: Win (Everyday)!

Things are getting done, and fires are extinguished, but I do not FEEL like I'm winning... why?

Last month's 3 min of gratitude was a blessing.
I mostly did it at the start of my day, a mini-meditation (trying to slow creep back to my longer meditation time); as I was doing this I realized something, this morning bliss was pushing out something I was feeling most mornings.
Panic.๐ณ
I was waking up in a panic every single day.
My mind raced with dread most every morning, and it felt like a weight on my chest.
WT ENTIRE F? ๐ซ
Not cool, probably not normal, maybe grief, maybe covid angst, but I realized it didn't matter; what did matter is how I could fix this.

Intense 365 Month 7: Be Grateful Daily! (For like 3 min though so no biggie)๐
Listen we are in this weird space these days where we are either in direct and ongoing despair or we arenโt, but we are going through it internally and we feel guilty being sad, or happy for that matter.
Being determined while apathetic is a thing and it feels horrid and itโs ok to say so, but if your reading this you prob have at least one thing to be grateful for.
If you dug deep, you may have 2 or 3.
On your worst day, even after a horrific loss, there are still those left behind that give you a bit of warmth inside.
This isnโt to bring you down but to bring you back to the surface, bottom line perspective is a lot, not everything, but plenty. We all need some and starting your day with a 3min rundown of the GOOD in your life may be your ticket to a better outlook tomorrow, and the next day.
