Wilson Yacht Club hosted the after party for the 15th Annual Celtic Cup race Sunday! Thank you to Tom Oldham and Lisa Stephens for their hospitality!
Only 2 boats raced from WYC, out of the 15 that participated including boats from TYC and OYC, a Wilson vs Olcott kinda thing! A Great day and race with Patriot winning the Main & Jib division 1 and ConspiraSea was 2nd, by 42 seconds or 1 kilt.
Great Job PATRIOT!!!

2026 marks the 15th Anniversary of the Celtic Cup Race! WILSON vs OLCOTT - Get your Kilts on and your a$$ to the start line on Sunday the 13th @ 10:30 AM. 2 Divisions- Spinnaker and Main & Jib.
Info and sign up sheets posted at the clubs, deadline is Friday 9/11 at 6 PM. After party at WYC.

More storms today, check your boats and lines.

Round 1 of storms is still in the process of moving through. After this, we will get into a lull in the action. The next round is still up across Michigan and we will be in a waiting pattern until later this afternoon. We'll have to watch to see how much clearing we get in between these rounds and the evolution of the second round as it crosses Ontario into WNY.

Cloud cover will keep things at bay. Plenty of sunshine will destabilize the atmosphere. We'll be watching....

On Saturday evening 8/29 George departed from Wide Waters in Lockport to start his Great Loop adventure. Goal for the evening was to get through the locks and be ready to head west first thing on Sunday morning. With the Wilson Yacht Club burgee flying and the boat ready for the trip, I was honored to be aboard for his 1st Locks 34 & 35 in our home town.
I believe Jon is the 1st to start the loop in Lockport, where he plans to finish it in roughly 9 months.
