Congratulations to Caleb Benner on an outstanding run with the Jefferson County Little League 10/11 All-Stars at the West Virginia State Tournament.

Jefferson County’s season came to an end Saturday with a 6-1 loss to CKLL, but it doesn’t take away from what Caleb accomplished throughout the tournament. Over the past week, Caleb delivered four big hits, drove in four runs, and recorded four strikeouts on the mound while competing against some of the best 10 and 11-year-old players in West Virginia. Facing that level of competition is one of the fastest ways for a young player to grow, and Caleb made the most of every opportunity.

Caleb was a tremendous representative of Jefferson County Little League, and everyone at Stonewall Ball Club is proud to call him one of our own. Great job, Caleb!

Tough way for the South Berkeley Little League 11U All-Stars to finish their tournament, falling to CGLL 12-2 earlier this evening.

Stonewall Tigers Luca, Kage, and Brooks represented SBLL well throughout the tournament. The biggest takeaway was what they did on the mound. On one of the biggest stages they’ll play at this age, all three threw an outstanding strike percentage and consistently challenged hitters. That’s the kind of poise and confidence that translates at every level of baseball.

A Little League state tournament has a way of speeding up a player’s growth. Competing against the best players in your region forces young players to mature and strengthens their competitive edge.

We’re proud of Luca, Kage, and Brooks for the way they represented SBLL. The scoreboard doesn’t define this week. The growth, confidence, and experience they gained will, and we can’t wait to see it on display in Stonewall uniforms this fall.

Jefferson County Little League is moving on!

JCLL defeated Hurricane 13-8 on Friday night, building a 9-0 lead through the first three innings before holding off a late rally to advance to the state semifinals.

Stonewall Tiger Caleb Benner helped the offense by putting the ball in play twice and advancing runners around the bases, making the kind of productive at bats that help teams win in tournament baseball.

JCLL is now just one win away from the state championship game. Good luck to Caleb and the entire team in tomorrow’s semifinal!
