Our Summer Intensive Highlights continue! 🩰✨

This week we’re celebrating Claire Johnson, who wrapped up a summer of intensive training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, PA, August 3–7.

Claire has made the most of her summer, challenging herself in different training environments and continuing to build on the work she’s done throughout the year. Her week at CPYB was the perfect way to wrap up her intensive season — with focused ballet training, familiar faces, and plenty of time in the studio.

“The great thing about going to three dance intensives this summer was getting to focus on different things at each one. This one is really great for improving ballet technique. It’s so much fun returning to an intensive with friends made from previous years, too!” — Claire J.

The backpacks are coming out, school supplies are being gathered, new routines are taking shape, and another exciting season is just around the corner!

Our Summer Intensive Highlights continue! 🩰✨

This week we’re celebrating Chloe Copenhaver, who returned to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, PA, for the August Course, August 3–7. Chloe Copenhaver Central PA Youth Ballet

Chloe has attended CPYB’s summer intensive multiple times, and we love that her experience continues to evolve year after year. Returning to a familiar program while learning from new teachers and interpretations is a wonderful reminder that there is always more to discover in dance.

“This was my fifth summer attending the August Course at CPYB, and it was another incredibly rewarding experience. I especially enjoyed the technique classes and felt like I learned a lot.

It was nice to see familiar instructors from previous summers, while also having the opportunity to learn from new teachers who bring fresh perspectives and different approaches to training. Both experiences helped make this year’s program especially valuable.

✨ Look at what we accomplished together! ✨

Today was Studio Clean-Up Day, and WOW—our wonderful dance family showed up and got to work! 🩰🧹

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to help give our studio a much-needed deep clean. We had so many great helpers, and we got SO much done!

From cleaning and organizing to all those little details that are easy to overlook, our studios are feeling refreshed and ready for a new season of dance.

And just in time! We’re getting everything ready to welcome our dancers for Open House, Alice auditions, and the start of fall classes.

We’re so grateful for the families, dancers, instructors, and volunteers who continually pour their time and care into Vostrikov’s. It truly takes a village—and we have the BEST one! 🩵

☔️🩵 A little stormy weather couldn’t dampen our evening together!

Our Vostrikov’s Academy of Ballet family gathered last night for our annual pool party, and while the storms cut our time in the pool a little short, we were so grateful for the opportunity to be together.

Our instructors, dancers, and families spend so much time in studios, rehearsals, and performances throughout the year. It’s special to have an evening to relax, laugh, catch up, and enjoy one another outside of dance.

Because ballet is about so much more than what happens in the studio. It’s about the friendships, the memories, the encouragement, and the people who become part of your journey.

We truly have a lovely dance family, and we’re so thankful for every dancer, instructor, and family who makes Vostrikov’s what it is. 🩰🩵

Step through the looking glass and become part of Virginia Youth Ballet’s enchanting fall production of Alice in Wonderland! Auditions are open to dancers ages 9+ who are currently registered for classes at Vostrikov’s Academy of Ballet.

Important: A parent or guardian must attend the audition meeting if:
• Your dancer is under 12 years old, or
• Your dancer has never participated in a Virginia Youth Ballet production.

Our 2026 Summer Intensive was filled with inspiring instruction, hard work, and so much growth. From ballet technique and pointe to Cunningham modern, jazz, contemporary, conditioning, and repertoire, our dancers embraced every challenge with focus, determination, and joy.
