Today is our last day in business and I say that with a heavy heart! Thank you to everyone who’ve supported us either through your kind words or making a purchase. I’m amazed to say that we officially sold out of pistols two weeks ago, something we are genuinely grateful for.
I took over the company from the founder, D.J. in 2020 through an acquisition. It was always a dream of mine to create a pistol that not only shot exceptionally well but also looked the part. The Vulcan is the embodiment of that dream. We created cutting edge manufacturing processes to make our barrel more accurate while also reducing the cost. We custom designed and built some of the sexiest fixtures for our 5-axis Matsuura milling machine. The frame of the Vulcan is built from a solid block of 7075 aluminum and in only two operations we machined finished frame. It only took 3 hours to make one frame (😳). I could go on forever and talk about how challenging this project was but also, how cool it was to be a part of it.
A lesser known detail is that we did 90% of all design and manufacturing in house with a team of 3 people and I’m included in that. I call that an incredible accomplishment regardless of the outcome.
In business sometimes you get the timing right and sometimes you don’t. The fi****ms industry has coffins full of other brands who’ve suffered the same fate. I don’t take it personally but I do take it as a lesson (I’m full on learning lessons so no more for now please God)
I want to give a huge shoutout to all of my staff that also put their heart and souls into this. With such a small team, every person had to bring their A game. Also, thank you to my friends and family that cheered for me along the way. Big thanks to all of the industry partners that also voted Lionheart (and were patient getting paid)
I leave this endeavor without burning any bridges (except maybe my marriage) and certainly without any outstanding financial debts.
This chapter is closing, but the story may not be finished. Some things are built too well to disappear forever.
Seriously… Thank you!!!
