Due to the success of the August Scramble, Winnemucca Ladies' Golf Club decided to have another scramble on September 14. The tournament had 22 members and non-members participate on a beautiful end-of-summer afternoon. Plenty of laughs were had by all and the nineteenth hole was the place to be! The first place team was Cortney Ayers, Schye Larson, Amanda Davidson, and Sherry Murphy with a 9 hole score of 35 which was one under par. Congratulations, ladies! The second place team of Candi Longan, Tami Anderson, Lori Woodland, Pam Hope, and Patty Vanosdall was not far behind with a score of 38. The club hopes to continue the monthly scramble in 2027 since it has become so popular and so much fun!

The Tuesday morning tournament was Aces High where players were to keep both gross score and putts for each hole. At the end of 18 holes, they were to deduct all of their one putts from their gross scores. They were then to subtract their handicaps for the final score. This tournament was especially challenging since the holes were in the same places as they were for the NNGA Women's Partner's Tournament. The first place winner in the first flight was Lisa Carlson with a score of 63. She also was closest to hole 2 with a distance of 2 feet 11 inches, closest to hole 5 with a distance of 23 feet 2 inches, and Lisa had a birdie on hole 15. Congratulations, Lisa! Marlea Pointer finished in second place in the first flight with a score of 64. In the second flight, Pam Hope was the winner with a score of 77. Cathy Irons was the second place winner with a score of 88. Laurie Pickett had 30 putts which included 9 one putts. Congratulations to all of the winners!

The nine hole gross/net tournament on August 31 and September 1st had Alyssa Jones as the low gross winner with a score of 44 in the first flight. Lisa Carlson was not far behind with a score of 46 as the second low gross winner. Anne Sample was the low net winner in the first flight with a score of 36. The second flight had Tina Wilson as the low gross champion with a score of 56. The second low gross winner was Sherry Murphy with a score of 63. The low net winner was Tami Anderson with a score of 42. On September 7th, Alyssa Jones was again the low gross winner with a score of 44. Anne Sample was the low net winner with a score of 42.
On Tuesday, September 1st, the ladies also played a gross/net tournament. The low gross winner in the first flight was Lisa Carlson with a score of 90. She continued her awesome day of golf with the fewest putts with 29, two chip-ins, and birdie on hole 2. Congratulations, Lisa! The low net winner in the first flight was Lori Woodland with a score of 75. In the second flight, Pam Hope was the low gross champion with a score of 110. The low net winner was Maria Bengochea with a score of 79. Marlea Pointer was closest to hole 2 with a distance of 13 feet 1 inch. Cathy Irons had a chip-in.
On Tuesday, September 8th, the ladies played the Pro's Posse which is a net only tournament. The first flight low net winner was Lori Woodland with a score of 75. Lisa Carlson was not far behind with the second low net score of 77. In the second flight, Maria Bengochea was again the low net winner with a score of 72. Cathy Irons was the second low net winner with a score of 78. Cathy was also closest to hole 2 with a distance of 58 feet 4 inches. Marlea Pointer had the fewest putts with 28 and also had a chip-in. Congratulations to all of the winners!

Just a reminder, the Ladies' Scramble is this coming Monday, September 14th at 4 pm. You don't have to be a member of the ladies' club to play. The buy-in is $10 with 100% of the proceeds to be awarded to the winners. There will be prizes for the losers as well! 😆 Our scramble last month was a resounding success thanks to Bryn Echevarria and Lori Woodland. So don't miss out on the fun and get your name on the list in the clubhouse before Monday or contact Bryn. If you want to bring a treat to share, please feel free to do so. The nine-hole gross/net tournament saw August coming to an end and the school year began. The low gross winner for August 17th and 18th was Lisa Carlson with a score of 41. Laurie Pickett was the second low gross winner with a score of 48. The first low net winner was Tina Wilson with a score of 33. The second low net winner was Robyn Dunckhorst with a score of 35. The low gross winner for August 24th and 25th was Anne Sample with a score of 49. The low net winner was Alyssa Jones with a score of 41. The nine-hole tournament will come to a close on September 29th. Hard to believe summer is almost over!

The Club Championship was scheduled for over two weeks on August 18th and 25th. The hotly contested tournament was based on low gross and low net. After week 1, the ladies were fairly close in their low gross and low net scores. It came down to Tuesday, September 25th to determine the club champions! The overall low gross winner was Lisa Carlson with a two day score of 185. The first low gross winner was Laurie Pickett with a score of 202. She also has the fewest putts on day 2 with 32. The low net champion was Bryn Echevarria with a score of 149. She also had 32 putts on day 2, closest to hole 2 with a distance of 15 feet on day 1, and closest to hole 5 with a distance of 8 feet 9 inches on day 2. Congratulations, Bryn, on such a successful tournament! The second low net winners for the tournament were Marlea Pointer and Lori Woodland who tied with a two day score of 157. Marlea also had the fewest putts on day 2 with 32 tying with Bryn Echevarria and Laurie Pickett. The third low net winner was Kailani Rodriguez with a score of 161. She was also closest to hole 2 on day 2 with a distance of 11 feet 2 inches.
Pam Hope had the fewest putts on day 1 with 33 and was closest to hole 5 on the same day with a distance of 5 feet 6 inches. She went on to birdie the hole. Congratulations to all of the winners!
