SAFETY ALERT!!
Current in pending severe weather will cause freezing pipes and other issues especially if power is lost.
If you have foundation vents on your home go out and close them now this will stop the colder air from coming in and freezing pipes.
Find your water cut off in the house and make sure you know where it’s at in the event a pipe does freeze.
Turn your thermostat up as high as you can tolerate it before the power goes out if you run your temperature in the house up to 75 or 80° you’ll hold that heat a lot longer when the power does go out.
Charge all flashlights, inverters, cell phones and communication devices.
Make sure all livestock have water and feed. Check tank heaters and coop lamps !
Prepare food that can be eaten by precooking and prepping.
Lay plastic sheets over walkways and stairs. They can be removed after sleet/icing stops.

Here’s a great example of a safe technical extraction of venomous Timber Rattler (Crotalus Horridus) from “netting”, by ACES Reptile Professional, Educator and Conservationist, Ken Hackney
Ken’s extensive knowledge and expertise with our native snakes allows us to train, educate and assist the public with wildlife and human conflicts.
These magnificent creatures are protected in North Carolina. ACES is authorized under our Endangered Species Permit 25ES-000515.
This snake was geotagged and released on the property.
Thanks Ken!

This roof damage caused by a falling limb years ago, has created a highly toxic environment in the attic of this home. Raccoon f***s and urine are deadly to humans. Never, under any circumstances “clean up” wildlife nesting, denning and waste areas without proper protective gear, and training. The life you save may be your OWN.
