Hey, are you guys still in business?
Fk yeah, mate 😉. Not only did we finally reacquire sol-mobil.com (after some persisting domain hosting issues) ... but we've got an entire secondary website coming soon as well.
In case you didn't know, Sol Mobil LLC was initially founded specifically for the purposes of developing natural fiber composite materials and components for automotive, bicycle, motorcycle, and aerospace applications. Local (ahem, 336 and 828) ebike repairs & custom work has always been something we just do on the side because it's fun (and pays the bills).
Keep an eye out for both websites, which should be dropping at some point this summer. Going forward, Tree Tree Six will be your local source for all things ebike, including generic parts, jailbreaks, repairs, tip top quality wheel builds, and other miscellaneous unholiness. Tree Tree Six is now available in through your local bike shop in Greensboro and Asheville, with more locations coming soon.
This allows me to focus more time and effort on building the company as originally intended - that means solar briefcases, two-wheeled perpetual motion machines, the bamboo concept car, and yes ... ambrosia maple hollow bodies all day, babey 😘

Had a Pretti Goode ride today.

Had the absolute pleasure of visiting with Kevin, proud owner of a Wild One with dual front hub motors and IGH in the rear. A truly insane ecosystem of technology that was only possible because we dare to dream. Oh, and we're huuuuge fanboys of these companies, so spec'ing this out was just too easy.
This is only the second time a Stein Trike has ever been fitted with dual Grin Hub motors, and we had a hand in both! We can't wait to have a coffee with you and see what kind of custom ebike or trike you can dream of!
Now available by appointment at in Asheville, AND in the G BORO BABEY!!!
More fiyah coming soon! And I don't mean battery fires - I mean that the Revolution is about to come a knockin' 😉

If you know where this is, then you are definitely one of the cool kids.
After years of hard work behind the scenes, we're almost ready to open our official customization & repairs shop. Before now, we were only able to see people by appointment at the old storage facility downtown, where we were severely limited by the door size, loading bay, and a few other things that made our work increasingly difficult over time. That being said, we are very thankful for the growth period our 'temporary' 7 years in that old to***co warehouse has afforded. This new location will be open Monday thru Friday, 9-5, starting this summer, and also be able to take in larger vehicles for diagnostic and repair.
Now that we're doing more work with 4 wheeled electric automobiles, motorcycles, fully custom ebikes, and ultralight aircraft, we needed to find an upgraded space to match.
Look out for the press release this summer.
Until then, please reach out to our friends at in Greensboro, or in Asheville if you need quick repairs done on your ebike or light mobility device!!! We now support both of them directly from this new, central workshop location in Winston-Salem in order to help get you back on the road as soon as possible!
If you want us to help you with an e85, biodiesel, offgrid solar/wind/hydro, or a hydrogen fuel cell project - then you're going to need to wait for the grand opening of T6 Customs. This summer. You're welcome 😉.

How thiccc is your ebike's main battery cable? We ONLY use arctic rated 10/2, because anything less just isn't good enough. Rated for regular, prolonged exposure to wind, sun, snow, and yes - subzero arctic temperatures. It also prevents accidental scuffs from wheels, and allows for more advanced waterproofing than is otherwise possible with 'normal people wires' 😉.

Behold the electric jerry can.
I dropped someone off with 1mi range remaining. Cuz I'm good like that. Right as I pulled in the parking lot, the car completely died, so I luckily parked it in the lot and rode a Lyft home.
The next morning, I came prepared. I took everything with me from the solar canoe, except the panel and trolling motor.
After about :30 minutes of lvl1 charging like this, the car was alive again, and had barely enough range to get to a free lvl2 charger about 2 miles away. After that, I hit the fast charger for a bit.
I cannot say whether the charging revived it, or whether the resting voltage had simply recovered overnight. I would be interested to test this again in the future and find out.
The best part about this system is that literally anyone can do it. If you have an electric car, the right adapter, a sinewave inverter, and a large deep cycle battery, you can do the exact same thing. If you have two, then you can even do this at 220v / lvl2. After all the times I have run my ebikes out of battery, both accidentally, and on purpose, I just knew there was a better way. Plus I already used all my AAA towing allotments for the year on sh!tty gas cars.
In case you did not know - our shop in NC is closed for the time being, and will be reopening in 2026. The first 8 years has been amazing ... but we want to retool for the next 80. I am not interested in becoming a historical sidenote in the evolution of personal mobility, as so many others have become (Podbike, ELF, Pebl, etc etc) - we have quietly been in the drivers seat for years, and are making calculated efforts to see the industry continue to move forward indefinitely. Starting in 2026, we will be completely focused on solar powered light ev's and mobility options, and no longer available for open-ended custom ebike work or 3rd party repairs. As was always the plan, since 2015.
The only exception is if you are a former customer (from 2018-2024), in which case, we will continue to support your build indefinitely 😀.

Over here at the open bike night puttin' ebike parts onto non electric bicycles 🤯. That triple bob will hold a battery, so it should hold the water bottle. Right?

A big thank you to the and for inviting us out to Cycling Technology night.
If you missed it? Well don't worry - there's another one coming up on May 10th :). And that one's for adults ! (The event tonight was mostly for children)
Can't make that one? Or maybe you're not local? Well ... stay tuned, because we have plenty more where that came from. Especially if you live in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, or Florida.
