Match Day 4 Recap: FUCC vs KUCC | Harvell Park, High Point

A thrilling game of cricket today as FUCC took on KUCC and walked away with a well-deserved win and 2 crucial points!

KUCC chose to bat first, but our bowlers came out firing! Chandra and Abhijay set the tone early, with Abhijay striking with a quick breakthrough. On a ground known for high scores, our bowling unit kept things tight, restricting the run rate to around 6 in the powerplay.

Despite strong efforts from KUCC’s Saad (42) and Shahid (50), FUCC fought back hard. Rohit, brought in by skipper Akhil, cleaned up the tail with clinical precision. Standout performances from Rohit and Abhijay with 3 wickets each, and solid support from A***n and Rahul with 2 apiece, bundled KUCC out for 230 in just 31.3 overs.

The chase began with a bang! Rahul smashed 39 off 23, and Rohit continued his red-hot form with a blistering 66 off just 29 balls. Suhan, Akhil, Asif, and Abhijay saw us through confidently, even in a tricky middle phase.

Game Day 3 Recap – FUCC vs KECC at Winston Park Salem

After a narrow defeat in the last outing, FUCC came out with renewed determination in Game 3 against KECC. KECC won the toss and elected to bat first.

Opening bowlers Chandra and A***n set the tone early, keeping it tight and applying pressure from the get-go. FUCC’s pace attack was relentless, making it difficult for KECC to score freely. A pivotal moment came when captain Akhil produced a stunning run-out to dismiss Zeeshan Qadir, just as he looked set to push KECC past the 200-mark. Ultimately, FUCC’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding restricted KECC to 180 in 35 overs.

Chasing 181, Rahul got FUCC off to a flying start with a blistering 44 off just 17 balls. He, along with Suhan, laid a solid foundation. The middle order—Damu, Akhil, and Abhijay—kept their composure and ensured the chase was completed smoothly.

Sandeep Karwa was equally impressive, blasting 85 runs off just 45 balls, with 8 fours and 7 sixes, maintaining a strike rate of 188.89.​

SCC Innings:

In response, SCC fought valiantly but fell short, managing 259 runs in 32.1 overs. The match concluded with FUCC emerging victorious by 20 runs.​

Great start to the season with great weather for the game day...

This is followed by a great batting start from Rahul and Sandeep karwa. Rahul didn't get the start to the season he was looking for and lost his wicket at 10 runs. Chinmay joined Sandeep bhai and scored quick runs before losing his wicket. Then comes Damodar Kamat to join Sandeep bhai. This was the main display from Sandeep bhai (125) and Damodar Kamat(83*) with 189-run partnership. FUCC ended scoring 249 runs with the loss of 3 wickets.

GCA started their inning well chasing 250 runs in 35 overs. They got 2 good partnerships from their opening pair Tridev and Mahesh and then Mahesh and Rishi.
FUCC bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals while keeping the RPO under control. Kumar C came to attack in 11th over and started from where he left last season, taking 4 wickets in 7 overs by giving only 32 runs. Jaydev is taking 3 wickets and great support from the rest of the bowling staff.

Weather stole the show here. The game was abandoned without the ball being bowled. SCC travelled all the way from Roanoke, VA in the hope of weather clearance but Umpires made a call around 11 am looking at players safety.

FUCC will will play their next game on April 7, 2024(Sunday) against GCA.
