I understand I am Lean, I understand I am “smaller” than the average American male… but the average American male is 200lbs… which isn’t very healthy.

I am however am a healthy weight and BMI, not skinny. Period.

After a couple weeks of terrible gut health it was nice to get some skirmish games in with some buddies I missed the weekend prior.

Team work makes the dream work.

When I was a boy I dreamed of being a Soldier. Movies like black hawk down and tears of the sun shaped who I wished to become.

I joined the Army right out of high school. After watching the towers fall in 9th grade I was ready. Even if my reasons for being ready may have been misguided.

The point is, nothing is more fulfilling than service, service to others, service to our family, our nation; service in faith of a higher power. Soldiering is the modern day warrior pathway.

I really am thankful for every minute I get to spend on the field.

It’s a bit of a challenge for me to express just how much this sport means to me. Given my recovery hiatus from jiujitsu it’s both filled a missing void and become a passion I don’t believe I’ll ever walk away from.

Soldiering, the warrior way after retirement from active service never left me. It’s all I know, it’s all I ever wanted to be as a Boy.

This sport allows me to safely Soldier on, remain active and healthy, focus on my soldier tasks and drills; and have a hella fun time doing so.

I feel like a traitor rocking Marine Frogies, but damn do those uniforms look clean!

I get it Devil dogs, I get it! Now to remove the crayons from the house before I eat them.
