Join the NSCD and Rocky Mountain National Park on the river for a hands-on fly fishing experience designed for all abilities!

Learn the basics with trained instructors, practice casting, explore how to read the water, and discover wildlife in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado. Most importantly—build community and experience the joy of time on the river.

What a great day at Staunton State Park! 🧗‍♂️

Yesterday, staff and interns were out on the rock for climbing training, building skills and a little extra grip strength along the way 💪

The NSCD is SO excited to welcome Allie Johnson as our new Adaptive Horseback Riding Supervisor! 🐴💙

Allie first joined the NSCD as a horseback riding instructor, before pursuing ski racing and becoming a TWO-TIME Paralympian with Team USA. Now, she’s returning to the program that helped shape her journey — and we couldn’t be happier to have her back.

A Colorado State University graduate, Allie earned her Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) certification in 2017 and brings years of adaptive recreation experience to the role.

A message from Allie:
"I am so excited to be “back in the saddle,” because this program truly means the world to me! My goal has always been simple. A lot of people with disabilities are told “no”—no you can’t do that, no it’s too dangerous, no it’s not possible. I want to be someone who says “yes, you can,” and helps give our riders the tools and confidence to prove it."

We are so happy to have Allie on the NSCD team! 🙌

🌊 Make waves this summer at Water Camp!

This 4-day adaptive adventure takes participants across the Front Range for exciting days on the water! Campers will build confidence while kayaking, paddle boarding, rafting rapids, and sailing on Cherry Creek Reservoir — all while making friends and having tons of fun. 🚣☀️
