This past Saturday, there was an historic promotion for two, longtime MARTIAL ARTS USA masters, Ali Jarrahzadeh and Bill Symons. During a special ceremony, Grandmaster Ali was promoted to 9th degree black belt. He is the first actual direct student of our Kwanjangnim to attain this rank. Having joined the MAUSA family in the mid 1980s, he has been both KJN's most senior student, as well as MAUSA's senior master for four decades! Also, Grandmaster Symons was promoted to 8th degree black belt. He first joined MAUSA as a white belt, shortly after our school opened in Michigan, in 1985. He has also been a direct student of Kwanjangnim for more than 40 years and was Chief Master Instructor at our Dearborn Heights dojang for two decades. Both of these exemplary gentlemen were an integral part of our success and helped make Martial Arts USA into what it is today. It is with the deepest respect and gratitude that we congratulate BOTH of these OUTSTANDING martial artists on a lifetime of dedication, loyalty and tireless efforts both to Taekwondo, as well as our school, MARTIAL ARTS USA!!!

MARTIAL ARTS USA masters returned recently from a trip to Korea, where they met with several of Taekwondo's top leaders from Kukkiwon, Taekwondo-Won, Moo Duk Kwan, the Korea Anti-Drug Youth Commitee, Han Yang University, the Kukkiwon 9th Dan Association and the Subak Association. One of the highlights was the presentation of appreciation awards to those who supported the recent MAUSA 40th anniversary celebration. Interestingly, there was also a big political rally for election integrity in the ROK. The trip concluded with a short visit to Busan, a port city on Korea's southeast coast.

The other day, MARTIAL ARTS USA was deeply honored to receive this personalized congratulatory message from the White House in Washington DC. A few months ago, we celebrated our fortieth anniversary in business and were blessed with so many texts emails, letters and videos from students, old and new, as well as colleagues and heads of many martial arts organizations from across the U.S. as well as Korea. Receiving this very special letter from the President is especially meaningful. We've been working on a commemorative presentation which will hopefully be completed before the end of the summer. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
