💙 In their own words…
Our Spring Challenge finalists put in the work, stayed committed, and inspired us every step of the way. We’re so proud of you! 💪✨
Meet Heather and learn about her journey below! 👇
Honestly, my first reaction to finding out I was a finalist was embarrassment and if you know me, I don’t embarrass easily. I was not overweight my whole life, I’ve belonged to a gym since I was 18 and working out was always easy for me and a part of my life. The change happened beginning with the sudden death of my dad, I gained about 15lbs in a short time. But I was still not someone you’d consider overweight. The real change happened as I got older, I suffered from anxiety still and the numerous medications I’m on, plus being over 50 and an “All or nothing” mindset was the perfect recipe for disaster. The weight came on and nothing I did helped. I was doing everything right on paper. Never missing a class, walking everyday, tracking my food, taking care of my mental health. I decided that for Thespring challenge I was going to fully commit and do everything I can and I did! I felt good, proud of myself, but I wasn’t happy with the end results. Even though I gained muscle and lost inches, I was still fixated on that weight number on the scale. However, the more I thought about it over the last 24hrs, my brain started to shift. I thought “why the fu*k not me!” I’m not where I want to be, but I will never stop trying and continue to push forward. That’s just who I am!
