We are incredibly excited to officially announce that Olympian and Olympic Coach Virgil Saliscan has joined the Amity Fencing Club coaching team!

Coach Virgil brings an exceptional level of international fencing experience to our athletes — both as an elite competitor and as a coach at the highest level of our sport.

🏅 2008 Beijing Olympian — Men’s Foil
🇷🇴 Former Romanian National Team Coach
🇫🇷 Olympic Coach — Paris 2024
🏆 5-Time Romanian National Champion
🌍 11th Place — European Championships
🥉 Junior European Championship Bronze Medalist
🤺 Former Coach at OnTarget Fencing Club in Maryland

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Coach Virgil represented Romania as the coach of Olympic foil fencer Mălina Călugăreanu, bringing Olympic-level coaching experience directly to our program.

Coach Virgil is now officially part of Amity Fencing Club, and his arrival represents another major step in strengthening our Competitive Program and building a high-performance training environment for athletes who want to compete at the regional, national, and international levels.

This is a rare opportunity for fencers in Washington State to train regularly with a coach who has experienced the Olympic Games from both sides of the strip — as an athlete and as a coach.

Get Ready for the Season with an Olympian!

Registration is now open for the Amity Fencing Club Pre-Season Camp!

This is a unique opportunity to train alongside Olympian Virgil Saliscan and our experienced coaching team before the new fencing season begins.

What you’ll get:
• 5 days of focused, high-intensity training
• 4 private lessons included (a $180 value)
• Technical, tactical, footwork, and confidence development
• Small training groups with personalized coaching
• Designed for both developing and advanced fencers

Camp Details
• $350 for 5 days (3 hours/day)
• Choose the week that works best for your schedule
• Ages 7–10 and 10–15
• Only 16 spots per age group

This camp is open not only to Amity Fencing Club members but also to fencers from any club. If you’re preparing for late-August tournaments or want to start the season stronger, this is the perfect opportunity.
