♻️ Playgrounds removed from Westminster Park and Windy Point Park are getting a second life! Through our partnership with Kids Around the World, the equipment will be refurbished and reused in underserved communities across the globe. Meanwhile, construction is underway on brand-new playgrounds at both parks, expected to open this fall.

The playground at Westminster Park was removed on August 25 by Woodridge Park District staff and Kids Around the World volunteers. The Windy Point Park playground was removed on September 2 through a collaborative effort involving the Woodridge Park District, Kids Around the World, and the team of Illinois State Senator Rachel Ventura. Both park improvement projects are part of the Woodridge Park District's Capital Replacement Program, with the Windy Point Park supported by a $100,000 legislative grant secured by Senator Rachel Ventura.

More park improvements are coming to life across the community! Recent upgrades at Falconridge and Summerhill parks are now complete, and both parks are ready for play. Summerhill Park features new playground borders, retaining walls, updated benches, and a refreshed overlook seating area, while Falconridge Park boasts an exciting new playground. With multiple park improvement projects underway throughout Woodridge, there is even more to look forward in the month ahead.
