Team TLG was honored to play in the Justice Robert Benham Golf Tournament today at Barnsley Resort.
This tournament supports youth mentoring and scholarships through New Frontier of Bartow County, making today about so much more than golf.
We’re grateful to be part of an event that celebrates Justice Benham’s legacy of service and giving back to the community.

It's never too late!
Thank you, Kaitlyn Ross for sharing the journey!

His wife told him to have fun playing golf.

She also told him, very specifically, not to take it too far and start buying all the stuff.

That advice lasted about five minutes. 😂

William Thomas picked up a golf club for the first time five years ago at age 37.

He was terrible at it.

His words, not mine!!

“It was such a small ball and it just whooped my tail!!”

And yet… he kept playing.

Five years later, he entered the Georgia PGA Associate Program and is chasing a dream of playing professionally!

He’s got his family right there with him.

William and his wife have been married for nearly 25 years.

They have four kids, and their son Phillip now serves as his caddy.

Phillip has a pretty good way of keeping his dad grounded, too:

“You're not my dad right now. So William, you need to hit a shot here.” 😂

What I love about William’s story is that he didn’t start young.

He didn’t have decades of experience.

He just found something he loved and decided to see how far he could take it.

And now he’s finding out just how far that little golf ball can carry a big dream. ⛳️

We know we have quite a few new followers, so we thought it was time to introduce the guy behind Thomas Legacy Golf. ⛳️

This is William Thomas Sr., husband, dad, PGA Associate, and a golfer who decided a few years ago to chase a pretty big dream.

He picked up a golf club for the first time in his late 30s, and this year he took the leap into competing professionally. His first season is quickly coming to an end, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead in 2027!
