Our last senior spotlight is Ethan Walling! A four-year member for cross country and track & field. For his Independent Study, he measured the effects of gentrification and its social impact. After graduation, he plans to spend time with his family. His favorite memory over the years was running the Twilight 5K at home. Congrats Ethan!

Next spotlight is Jack Schuller! Another four-year member for cross country and track & field. His Independent Study was about the elevational distribution of the golden tree frog on the El Tucuche Mountain in Trinidad. After graduation, he plans to go to graduate school to become an athletic trainer at the collegiate level. His favorite memory was running a 27:17 in the 8K at the NCAC XC Conference Championship! Congrats Jack!

Our next spotlight is Essaie Mezmur! A four-year member for our track & field team. His Independent Study highlighted the influence of religion on Ethiopia’s socioeconomic factors using data analyses. After graduation, he plans to work in the field of data and pursue a master’s degree in a few years. His favorite memory his first Myrtle Beach spring break trip. Congratulations Essaie!

Next spotlight is Evie Sanford! Another four-year member for our throws squad. For her Independent Study, she researched the Younger Dryas throughout Ohio and the Midwest. To further her research, she examined Brown’s Lake, a 16,000 year-old lake in Shreve, Ohio, that preserves records of its sediment. After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree. Her favorite memory over the years was winning indoor conference in shot put her freshman year. She did not realize she won until Coach Carson and the throws squad swarmed her. Congratulations Evie!

Our coaches are hitting the road to find some future Fighting Scots! Coach Clymer will be at the OHSAA state meet Thursday and Friday. Coach Kara will be there Friday and Saturday. This is a great opportunity to connect with some college coaches and discuss your opportunities here at The College of Wooster! Stop by and say hello if you see them this weekend!

Our next senior spotlight is Duncan Miller! Another four-year member for cross country and track & field. His Independent Study highlighted the different nutritional conditions that affect bacteria-phage interactions in bacterial biofilm. After graduation, he plans to pursue graduate school and get a job. Hanging out and making bonds with his teammates was his favorite memory over the years. Congrats Duncan!

Next senior spotlight is Braydon Hudson! A four-year member for both track & field and football. For his Independent Study, he researched the causes of stress for firefighters and how they can manage their anxiety. After graduation, he plans to pursue firefighting and coaching. His favorite memory was throwing PR’s in discus and javelin at the Big Red Invitational. Congrats Braydon!
