What a month it’s been. 🇺🇸🏑

Today we wrapped up our final camp, bringing our USA tour to an end.

Over the past month, my coaching team and I have been on the road delivering camps across:
📍 New Jersey
📍 New York
📍 Philadelphia
📍 Maryland
📍 Virginia

It’s been an unforgettable experience. We’ve had the opportunity to work with so many fantastic players, meet some incredible coaches, and build relationships with amazing people throughout the trip. The passion for hockey and the warm welcome we received everywhere we went made this tour truly special.

A massive thank you to everyone who hosted us, supported us, and took part in our camps. We couldn’t have asked for a better month.

Now it’s time to head home to the Netherlands, full of great memories and already looking forward to the next USA tour.

This summer will be Renske’s second time working with Thomson Hockey in the USA, bringing her energy, passion, and experience back to the program after missing last year’s tour while travelling around Australia.

Renske currently plays in the D1 team at HCG in the Netherlands and has spent many years developing both as a player and coach within the Dutch hockey system. Her understanding of the game, combined with her enthusiasm for coaching and player development, makes her a fantastic addition to the Thomson Hockey staff.

Alongside her playing career, Renske has several years of experience coaching and training youth teams of different age groups, helping players improve both technically and tactically while creating a positive and energetic learning environment. Her ability to connect with players and communicate clearly on the field allows her to bring confidence and enjoyment to every session.

Renske brings a strong understanding of modern Dutch hockey principles, with a focus on game awareness, decision making, skill development, and creating an enjoyable but challenging training atmosphere. She is passionate about helping young players grow, compete, and better understand the game.

After being unable to join the staff last summer due to travelling throughout Australia, Renske is excited to finally return and share her knowledge and love for hockey with players and coaches across the USA this summer.

She is looking forward to meeting everyone and helping create a fun, educational, and memorable experience on and off the field.

🚨 NEXTGEN COACHES – THE DUTCH WAY 🚨

I’m excited to officially launch NextGen Coaches — a free coaching community designed to help young field hockey coaches under 25 learn, grow, and develop their understanding of the game.

Too many young coaches are left trying to figure things out alone.

This community was created to change that.

The goal is simple:

✅ Help young coaches become more confident
✅ Improve session quality and game understanding
✅ Teach modern Dutch hockey principles
✅ Create a supportive coaching network

Inside the community, coaches will get:
🏑 Weekly training session ideas
🧠 Coaching tips and tactical insights
💻 Monthly online meetings & Q&A sessions
📈 Support with player development and session planning

This summer marks Noor’s second trip to the USA with Thomson Hockey. Bringing valuable experience from both playing and coaching at a high level in the Netherlands, she offers a strong understanding of the Dutch approach to the game. Noor is excited to work with players at our camps this summer, sharing her knowledge, energy, and passion to help them develop and perform at their best.

🏑 Thomson Hockey at Garrison Forest – Summer Camp

This summer, we’re bringing the Dutch way of hockey development to Garrison Forest.

Our camp is open to players of all levels and is designed to create a fun, challenging, and high-quality learning environment.

We are running two age groups:

👶 Ages 5–9

Fun-based sessions focused on movement, coordination, and introducing hockey through play.

🔥 Ages 10–18

High-level training focused on technical skills, game understanding, and decision-making.

Players will learn how to:

⚡ Play with speed and control

🧠 Read the game

🏑 Improve technical skills

🎯 Train with purpose
