Worcester Iaido

Our Japanese Sword Iaido organizations annual Summer Camp this past weekend.

Nakayama Hakudo sensei, with a large katana, at a scale often associated with the early Muso-Jikiden Line and the Hayashizaki Line out of the Tosa region of Japan.

My first aikido and iaido sword teacher, a titan that came out of training in Japan in the 70s, passed away 30 years ago today. I would not be the martial artist I am or teaching it to this day if I hadn't been fortunate enough to meet him in 1989. Never to be forgotten.

We had a great seminar on Japanese swordsmanship here in Worcester this past Sunday June 29th, held at the Karate Center with myself, sensei Brian Dunham from New Hampshire Iaido San Shin Kai.
