That’s a wrap in the Woo. ⚾️🍂

With the fall season officially in the books, we couldn’t be prouder of the foundation established over the past several weeks. We integrated new faces, tested our depth, and laid the groundwork for what’s ahead.

The 2027 season can’t arrive fast enough. Until then, we keep our heads down and grind toward the spring campaign.

It’s always a great day when our alumni come back to give back.

Huge thanks to Lancer alumnus Mason Bates for stopping by fall workouts to share some real, invaluable perspective with our current squad.

It’s one thing to hear it from coaches, but it hits differently hearing from someone who lived the climb. Mason gave an honest look at the realities of being a college athlete - the adversity of early years with minimal playing time, the grind to earn his starting spot by his senior year, balancing life off the field, and the responsibility of stepping up as a leader.

The blueprint doesn’t change: trust the process, put in the work when nobody is watching, and hold the standard for the 2027 campaign. Once a Lancer, always a Lancer. 💙💛

🧹 BRING OUT THE BROOMS: TURKEY LEGS SWEEP THE 2026 LWS! 🍗

It wasn’t a series, it was a full-course feast. The Turkey Legs take the 2026 Lancers World Series in a definitive 3-0 sweep over the Pumpkin Heads!

The Damage:
🍗 Game 1: 18–5 (Statement made)
🍗 Game 2: 12–10 (Clutch comeback)
🍗 Game 3: 14–8 (Brooms secured)

Pumpkin Heads Skipper, Dave Wigren said “legends finish strong,” but Coach Todd Smith’s “sleeping giants” showed up hungry and refused to drop a single contest. From a controversial backward K to late-inning fireworks, this squad backed up every single word.

Hats off to both dugouts for an electric series, but the 2026 crown belongs to the Legs.

🚨 LANCERS WORLD SERIES: GAME 2 UPDATE 🚨

Game 2 of the Lancers World Series has been SUSPENDED. We pick up tomorrow right where we left off, with the entire series hanging in the balance.

The Pumpkin Heads unleashed an absolute offensive barrage in the top of the 6th, turning a 5–1 deficit into a 10–5 lead. But before the Turkey Legs headed to the plate in the bottom half, skipper Todd Smith delivered an all-time dugout rally cry:

“If they were looking to wake sleeping giants, kudos to them! They now have to deal with the fury of the Turkey Legs. Legends don’t quit? Sure. Neither do heroes. And when I look upon you men, all I see are the faces of warrior that they will sing songs about until the end of time!”

The Turkey Legs answered right away, scratching across a run and juicing the bases before real-world responsibilities intervened and Life Skills forced the stoppage. Of course, it wouldn’t be the LWS without supreme theatrics: the only recorded out was a cold-blooded pitcher’s challenge that flipped the count into a backwards K. The Turkey Legs dugout went ballistic, setting the tone for an absolute dogfight…

GAME 1 FINAL: Turkey Legs 18, Pumpkin Heads 5

The 2026 Lancers World Series kicked off with an absolute statement - or a crime scene, depending on which dugout you ask. The Turkey Legs didn’t just take Game 1; they ate, rolling to an 18–5 blowout to take the early series lead.

The Pumpkin Heads now have 48 hours of mandatory soul-searching before trying to dig out of the crater.

Game 2: Monday, October 5 @ 3:00 PM at Lyons Field.
