Holy Cross Men's Track & Field

Named in honor of Coach Thomas Duffy, who led Holy Cross Track & Field from 1966–1970, the Tom Duffy Award recognizes the program's top overall performer on the track.

Named after legendary Head Coach Bart Sullivan, who served Holy Cross athletics from 1912–1964, this award honors the athlete who demonstrates elite performance across all three competitive seasons.

Named after Jim Kavanagh, who served Holy Cross from 1970 until his retirement in 2022, The Fidelis Bellator Award, recognizes two student-athletes (one of each gender) whose commitment, perseverance, & selfless approach embody the spirit of the program.

Named after Harold "Skip" O'Connor, who was a beloved coach for Holy Cross track and field from 1969-1977, The "Skip" O'Connor Award recognizes excellence in field events.

Awarded to the top first-year athlete in track, the "Dick" Dow Award (named for Holy Cross track and field coach Richard E. Dow) honors immediate impact and future promise.

Named after Henclewood '04 who was the Jamaican National Champion in the discus, the award recognizes the top first-year field event athlete.

The Thomas Fitzsimmons Award recognizes the athlete who demonstrated significant improvement and growth throughout the season.

Jack Ryan earned the Peter Cummings Award (named after conference champion Peter Cummings '92) through substantial growth and fine-tuning his craft in the javelin. Yearly he increased his impact during championship competition.

The LT. Thomas Sullivan Award (Given by the Sullivan Family in his honor) honors the athlete whose commitment and service to the team go beyond competition.

Congratulations to Liam Lyons on concluding his legendary Holy Cross career with a top 25 finish in the 1500m at the NCAA East First Round 👏✝️

Lyons placed 21st in the 1500m first round with a time of 3:44.85 ⏱️

Lyons is the first Crusader to represent Holy Cross men’s track and field at the NCAA East First Round in back-to-back seasons since Nathaniel Couture ‘08, who competed in the javelin in 2006 and 2007. 📖
