Between facing off against a golem army, taking down a powerful lightning golem, and teaching a golem to love, there was no shortage of golem-filled fun at this past Wednesday's Newbie Night Quest!

Special thanks to our caster buddy Crystal, our fighter buddy Ed, and all our other NPCs for making all of this possible. And of course, thank you to all our newbies who came through to defend and save the village!

Returning oldbies trained incoming newbies in the art of bonking your friends as SMAS held our first fight practice of the new year! Everyone had a blast, and we are super excited to get to know all the new faces of tonight and incoming!

SMAS members showed off their fighting skills from the year in tournaments
WPI students took a silly idea and made it complicated with impressive amounts of data

To no one's surprise, both were true at this weekend's Gilded Lion and Silver Branch Summer Festival!

Finals stress? Sorry, I can't hear you over the sounds of epic tournament fighting!

This weekend, SMAS members participated in Tournaments of Artemis, a Realms event focused around giving giving the female and feminine-presenting folk of the Realms the limelight in battle. The event was seperate into two teams, who declared themselves the Bird Buddies and the Silver Stags, and fought it out over the course of multiple tournament battles, with the Bird Buddies emerging victorious!

Teams aside, SMAS had the best win as our members showed the effects of this year's practice. Well done to all those who joined!

SMAS is excited to present the WPI Ren Festival!

Hosted as a collaboration between clubs on campus, the Ren Festival is a Renaissance-themed event that will be hosted on April 20th from Noon (12) - 7 PM in Higgins Lawn! Free food, activities, and merriment for all students - we look forward to seeing you there!

SMAS continues to run fight practice on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 10:30, Mondays being on Institute Park and Thursdays being in Higgins Lawn. Masks are required during practice, but we have boffers avaliable!
