Many thanks to the Babes of 1916 League for coming down from Solon today to participate in our inaugural 9/11 Remembrance Tourney. The Babes and COSSA each fielded three teams: 65+, 70+ and 75+. Each age group played a doubleheader. Special thanks to Stars Indoor Sports for supplying the COSSA shirts. We're looking forward to going to Solon for next year's 9/11 Remembrance Tourney.

As the Commissioner of the COSSA 70+ Senior League, I had the pleasure today of presenting the Tournament Championship Trophy to Premier Urology manager Tom Gruzs and his squad. They finished 2nd in the regular season to Notary One, whom they defeated in the title game. Accepting the 2nd place trophy is team member, and Notary One owner, Roger Rill. Congratulations to manager Jeff Zettler and his players on a great season.

The championship streak has ended. The 65+ team I play on, Edward Jones, finished in 3rd place in the regular season. We played the regular season champs, Mannino’s for the title in the playoffs, but came up short. I think the final score was 19-15. Congrats to coach Doug Sanderson and his squad for a great season. I really love playing in this league because each year the teams are built through a draft, meaning you get to team up with guys you may not know very well, facilitating new friendships.

Another shot at the Softball Players Association 70+ World Softball title. With the tournament in Columbus this year we’re hoping for a home field advantage.
