🔥 Free Fall Dutch Oven Cooking Class - Yellville

There's nothing like the smell of a Dutch oven working over coals on a crisp fall morning. Join AGFC at the Crooked Creek Nature Center to learn the essentials of outdoor cooking, and then eat what we make.

You'll learn: • The basics of cooking with cast iron Dutch ovens • Gear, coal placement, and tips that actually work • Delicious recipes, some featuring wild game • A little history of this old-fashioned cooking vessel

What happens after the clean up ends?
Fur Taker of Arkansas share their knowledge of the ethics, best practices and the role trapping plays in conservation.
We are glad to have folks willing to spend time here, teaching the public about another aspect of conservation in the Natural State.

We had an excellent Great Arkansas Clean Up event today. The group was small, but mighty and we picked up 12 bags of trash at the center, Kelly's Slab, Mark Oliver Access and the county road leading to the center. Huge shout to those who showed up to help! Sad to have missed it? No worries, we will definately do this again.
PS Keep better track of those Sonic Cups, folks. We picked up A LOT of those.

When: Saturday, September 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Where: Crooked Creek Nature Center
Meet at the pavilion, on the right side of Conservation Lane before you reach the main building.

What we'll do: Spend a few hours collecting trash and debris along the trails, at the swimming access, and on the county road next to the property.

Cost: Free

Who: Ages 5 and up. This is a great one for families.

What to wear: Weather-appropriate and work-appropriate clothes.
