Please take a minute to read this.
As of this morning, March 1 2026 I will be suspending taking orders for a 4 to 5 week period.
I have given this a lot of thought and feel it is the best course of action for me.
As most of you I am a 1 man shop and your patronage has kept me very busy for a very long time.
The down side of being a 1 man shop is keeping up with orders and over the past 3-4 months I have been getting further and further behind.
I have received quite a few large orders that I have not even been able to start on.
I will still be working as I do every day in an attempt to catch up.
I look forward to catching up and getting back to taking orders.
Respectfully,
Dave Williams

Kuruman Bo for a customer in Colorado. Made of Hickory 6’ x 30” with 3” cord.
I made one of these about 10 years ago but can’t remember the dimensions of that one.
Let me know what you think!!

GROUNDED
I have had 2 migraines in my life. First one was many years ago and the second one hit me in my sleep Friday night. The one that happened Friday was extremely painful and left in quite a malaise Saturday. After not finishing my dinner last night my wife Sheri became concerned.
She said I think you might have Covid. First thing this morning I went to the local pharmacy and bought some test. I guess you can figure out where this is going. The test was positive πŸ˜•.
I tried going out to the shop this morning as I very busy and lasted all of 45 minutes.
In my younger years I would have pushed myself to keep going. I am 70 years old now and want to add many more to that total .
Being in shop is a no go for right now.
I will keep you all posted

Surgical bandage gone. Gauze with a removable splint held on by tape.
I can remove the splint to start bending exercises. Progress πŸ‘πŸ‘

Status update.
Surgery went well, although my finger is a little bit shorter now. Tha doctor had to clip the bone back in order to make the remaining skin cover the finger tip. Hopefully I will have some semblance of a finger nail. I had the procedure done using only a local block on the hand, so I was awake throughout the whole thing(quite an experience).
I have been down in dumps over this as I am now way behind on my Christmas orders.
Apologies in advance.

Sometimes more than the wood gets cut. This happened Wednesday afternoon. A trip to the emergency room was followed up by a visit to a hand specialist today. Tomorrow he will fix me up. Not a good time of the year for this to happen πŸ˜•

The past few days have been very busy. My fingers get tired just thinking about stringing them πŸ‘Š

Many times I describe to customers the difference between freshly cut Osage Orange and that which has been finished for a while. The middle pair of tonfa are brand new and ready to be shipped out. The other 2 pair have been around for a few years.
The 2 older pair are for sale if anyone is interested.
Pair 1 - Round body, length 14”, handle 3-1/2”
Pair 2 - 1/2 Round Straight, length 16”, handle 3-3/4”
